Chapter 1690 Low Profile

The news that Elijah had been a monk for over twenty years broke out online and instantly caused quite a stir.

A person who was neither a celebrity nor a public figure had exploded to the top of trending topics.

Before marrying Sally, Elijah had always been a very low-key person.

But now, because of Sally, he had been thrust into the limelight.

Sally looked at the trending topics, and regardless of what was said about Elijah's past, she found it a bit grating.

Athena quickly noticed Sally's change in mood and whispered reassuringly, "Looking at the trending topics, people are just curious about your husband. There's no malice, so don't worry."

Sally glanced at Athena and pursed her lips. "I'm worried that Elijah might not like this kind of attention. You know. He's always been low-key."

"Instead of worrying, why don't you just ask him?" Evie spoke gently to Sally, who had been surfing just a moment ago.

"You guys keep chatting. I'll go replace him!"

Sally immediately got up, dropped a sentence, and ran outside.

Besides being exceptional at alternative medicine acupuncture, Elijah was also interested in plants.

Jaxson had planted a few rose saplings this year, and for some reason, they had recently been infested with pests.

He had read books, watched videos, and tried many methods, but nothing worked.

When he heard Elijah knew what to do, he immediately borrowed Elijah.

Recently, the weather had been getting hotter and hotter.

The sun was scorching outside, and Sally, afraid of getting tanned and feeling hot, chose to stay behind and chat with her friends.

When she found Elijah, he was wearing a wide-brimmed straw hat and about to head back inside.

Seeing Sally, he looked surprised and jogged toward her. "It's so sunny. Why did you come out?"

Elijah took off his hat and put it on Sally's head as he spoke.

Elijah was very pale, and after being under the sun for a while, his cheeks were flushed.

"Elijah, the news about you being a monk has been leaked by someone, and now you're trending on the internet, even at number one..." Sally spoke like a child who had done something wrong. "I also saw people digging into your family background. I immediately reported it, but I don't know if it'll work..."

Elijah raised his hand, palm facing upward to block the sun, and then asked her in a puzzled tone, "Do you dislike me for being a monk?"

"Of course not!" Sally shook her head while frantically waving her hands.

"Do you think something is embarrassing about the Patterson family?"

"No!" Sally became even more anxious.

Then Elijah smiled as warm as a spring breeze. "Then why are you afraid of me trending on the internet or people digging into our family?" Sally was confused.

"I..." She was dumbfounded by Elijah's question. "You've always been so low-key..."

She stopped halfway through her sentence and just looked at Elijah, bewildered.

Elijah found her expression amusing, laughing heartily and shaking with laughter.

"Being discussed online and being the topic of conversation won't change me or the Patterson family from continuing to be low-key. If people want to talk about it, let them. It's just providing some entertainment for the public. As time passes, everyone will only remember the latest trends, and no one will remember who I am," Elijah said, gently pinching Sally's nose.
