Chapter 1735 Begging for Mercy

Beatrice was very anxious.

She suddenly turned to Emily and asked, "Emily, please say something. Do you really want our family to be ruined, like they've said?"

"Enough!" Mark, looking calmer but clearly fed up with the whole family, spoke out, "Emily won't have anything to do with your family from now on. Hey, someone throws out these stinky people. If they come again, just chase them away without asking."

After saying this, Mark held Emily's hand tightly. "Honey, let's go."

Without thinking, Emily looked at Suzy.

After such a big incident, she felt she should explain to Suzy.

Suzy gently nodded, signaling her to leave.

Only then did Emily leave with Mark.

"Emily!"

Daphne shouted Emily's name loudly.

Emily stopped, turned around, and looked at Daphne. "Since you mentioned the past, I've always had a question."

Daphne seemed to realize something and tried to avoid eye contact.

"That night, I locked my room door. How did he get in? Weren't you the only one with a spare key?" Emily asked, emphasizing each word.

Daphne's face went pale immediately.

"I don't know what you're talking about. You must be remembering it wrong."

Daphne did not realize that her sudden guilty look gave everything away.

"How could you do such a thing? Even animals wouldn't act like that!" Sally shouted in rage when she thought about herself, who was almost set up by her sister. Sally felt that she had a very similar experience with Emily. And she couldn't help scolding Daphne.

"Do you have evidence? If not, don't make false accusations!" Daphne snapped back.

"If I had evidence, you'd already be in jail!" Sally shouted back even louder.

Daphne scoffed, "I don't want to argue with you!"

Then, she met Emily's gaze, which was almost mocking.

Daphne's pride felt pierced.

Emily then said, "My grandmother, when she took me in, told me no matter what I faced, I should remain noble and not let hatred drag me down to the level of people like you." Daphne frowned.

She had only met Emily's grandmother twice.

Emily's grandmother was a daughter of a landlord, once humiliated in her youth, now a street vendor.

Yet she held herself high.

She looked down on Daphne and Samuel.

That was why Daphne always hated Emily's grandmother.

Hearing Emily quote her grandmother now made Daphne even more uncomfortable.

"It seems my grandmother was right." Emily continued, "I didn't stoop to your level, so now I have a loving family and husband. But you..."

Emily looked Daphne up and down and smirked. "Becoming the other woman, trying desperately to climb the social ladder, but all you got were two useless children. It's like they came to collect a debt. You didn't get the luxurious life you dreamed of. Instead, you ended up begging me for help."

"I didn't!" Daphne denied instinctively.

How could she beg Emily?

Taking care of siblings was a sister's duty!

"Everyone can see the truth." Emily said, not wanting to argue anymore, "This is just the beginning of your sad life, a karmic retribution. Samuel, Beatrice, and Roland will be your hell in the future." After saying this, Emily didn't give them a chance to reply.

Holding Mark's hand, she walked straight out of the front hall.

The bodyguards called by Mark also started moving toward the Quinn family members.
