Chapter 1868 Athena Was Furious

Throughout this journey, whenever she thought of these consequences, Emily would tremble all over.

She watched Athena return.

She secretly breathed a sigh of relief, as it seemed that Athena didn't intend to blame her and the Timberlake family.

It was not that the Timberlake family was afraid of the Crawford family and Stella Group.

It was just that if a conflict arose between them, it would likely result in a situation where both sides suffered.

Outside the ward, Dorian and the others stood with dispirited expressions.

Ottilie stood beside Dorian, still wearing her damp clothes.

"Today's matter was a result of Mia's recklessness," Athena's tone was cold. "You've already fulfilled your duties within your responsibilities."

Dorian subconsciously glanced at Ottilie.

However, Ottilie knew Mia wanted to sneak out to play, but she didn't inform the adults. Instead, she went along with Mia.

"Mrs. Crawford, I'm sorry. You can send me away," Ottilie lowered her eyes.

Her eyes were teary for the first time in front of Athena, and she choked up.

"As Mia's friend, I'm sure you didn't want to betray your friend, right? You hadn't done anything wrong. Moreover, if you hadn't gone along today, Mia wouldn't have survived by relying solely on Herbert," Athena squatted down, gently brushing Ottilie's cheek.

Her little face was icy cold.

Ottilie looked up at Athena, tears welling up in her eyes.

"To be honest, I'm furious right now, but I don't know who to blame," Athena smiled self-mockingly. Her gaze shifted, and she noticed some minor wounds on Ottilie's arms and cuts on the back of their hand. "Dorian, take her for treatment," Athena patted Ottilie on the shoulder and stood up.

She pushed open the tightly closed ward door and walked in.

Logan, Byron, Aiden, Elijah, and his wife were all in the ward.

"Athena."

"Mommy."

Aiden and Logan stood up at the same time when they saw Athena coming in.

"Sally, Elijah, you two have worked hard. Go back and rest," said Athena gently.

Sally looked at Mia, who was huddled in her father's arms, then nodded. "Okay, I'm hungry too. Elijah, let's go back first." "Okay."

Before Elijah left, he comforted Athena again, "Mia just got a little frightened. It is not a big deal. Don't worry too much." Athena just nodded.

After Elijah and his wife left, only Athena's family members remained in the room.

"Athena, fortunately, Mia is blessed with good fortune, and nothing happened!" Logan grinned hurriedly.

"Mia, come out of Dad's arms and come to me," Athena stood in place, and her tone still sounded gentle.

Mia looked up at Byron, tears streaming down her face.

Byron's complexion was very grim, and his brows were tightly furrowed.

"It's alright," he gently patted his daughter on the back and held her still cold hand.

Mia got off the hospital bed, lowered her head while sobbing, and walked up to Athena.

"Mommy, I'm sorry," she sobbed and apologized.

"What is there to be sorry for?" Athena wiped her tears. "You want to fulfill Richie's birthday wish, right?"

Mia nodded.

"Mia, do you know who pushed you into the river today?" Athena continued to ask.

Mia shook her head lightly.

"She is Emily's younger sister."

Mia was shocked.

"She is Emily's half-sister from a different mother. She and her mother bullied Emily a lot, and now their family is facing consequences for their wrongdoings. She, whether out of jealousy or discontent, had thoughts of revenge."
