Chapter 1875 Half-Truths

"Previously, he hacked the official website of a company under the Crawford Group and got caught as a juvenile offender," Athena replied. "They are all my dark history!" Logan muttered.

Then he moved his fingers a bit and started digging up accounts on the Internet based on Connor and Wells' personal information.

The first helpful thing he found was in Wells' cloud backup.

The latest backup contained several chat records.

Logan downloaded them.

"It's the chat record with Connor..." Logan double-checked the time. "From the night Luke was killed."

Athena and the others hurriedly came forward to take a look.

Wells: [Do you think Luke will take the bait?]

Connor: [No man can refuse a beautiful woman. I've already told her to take photos or record videos when needed. Once we have these things, Luke will definitely do as we command!] Wells: [Isn't this going too far? Luke has been good to us.]

Connor: [I want a promotion. Are you willing to be a security guard for the rest of your life?]

Connor: [Aren't you envious of the Timberlake family's wealth? Damm it! Any of Suzy's jewelry pieces would be enough for ordinary people like us to earn a lifetime's worth. That's not fair!]

Connor: [Wells, once we're done with Luke, we can casually bring out some jewelry and gems. You'll have women queuing up for you endlessly in this lifetime!]

Wells: [Let's talk about this later.]

Connor: [You better not have any other thoughts. We're in the same boat, and you begged me to bring her in. If we were to investigate, we'd both be kicked out, and you can forget about replaceing such a good job for the rest of your life.]

Wells: [I know, I won't. Don't worry.]

The chat log ended.

"Why did Wells keep this chat log?" Emily frowned.

"Nothing but for betraying Connor when they were found out," Suzy sneered.

Suzy believed that she treated her subordinates well, caring for their needs.

But in the end, the greedy remained greedy, and those who resented the rich still resented them.

Suzy's eyes welled up with tears. "That heartless Beatrice. Killing Luke wasn't enough. She even wanted to tarnish his reputation!"

The chat log cleared Luke's name.

"Keep looking," Athena spoke up.

Beatrice spoke in half-truths from beginning to end.

Athena knew that she could strike her hard only by replaceing the other half that Beatrice hid.

In fact, after reading the chat log, Athena had already formed a guess in her mind.

But just guessing wasn't enough.

She had to present substantial evidence to drive Beatrice crazy and make her collapse!

Logan thoroughly scrutinized Wells' social media accounts.

There was no usable information left.

Then it was Connor's turn.

Connor had a multitude of things online, all in a jumble.

His social media accounts were filled with traces of him harassing internet beauties.

Disgustingly creepy.

However, none of these had any connection to Beatrice.

Just when Logan was feeling a bit discouraged, the investigators knocked on the door and provided a clue.

"On Connor's account, there are several payments. It shows as settlement for manuscripts."

Logan took it over.

The payer's information was very detailed.

Immediately, Logan searched for it on his own search engine.

The information seemed legitimate and normal.

But Logan still found some flaws.

"This is a transit platform. The real payer is not them."
