Chapter 1883 Talk to Your Daughter!

"Understood," Aron responded.

"Go back and be with your wife and daughter."

Worried about Evie, Aron returned to the postpartum rehabilitation center without delay after Byron said this.

But along the way, Aron kept thinking about Byron's state when he spoke.

It was weird.

It felt like the old Byron was back, but something was missing.

Early the following day, the doctor checked on Mia again.

"She is okay now. Look out for sudden fevers these days. If there is a fever, send her to the hospital immediately in case there should be a bacterial infection in the lungs."

"Doctor, can I go home? My puppy is still in the puppy hospital!" Speaking of the puppy, Mia immediately choked up.

"Yes. But kid, you have to be careful in the future. Stay away from dangerous places like the river. Your parents are really worried."

"Okay!" Mia nodded and promised.

Byron and Athena looked at each other.

Mia couldn't get away without punishment for her misbehavior.

Athena's punishment for Mia was very simple.

From yesterday to now, no matter how Mia asked, no one told her what happened to Herbert.

Mia dreamed that Herbert had died last night.

After waking up from the bad dream, Mia burst into tears.

At first, Athena wanted to wait longer before telling Mia the truth so that Mia would learn the lesson.

But Byron couldn't stand seeing Mia so sad, so he told Mia that Herbert was alive and promised to take her to see Herbert first thing in the morning.

However, although Herbert survived, it had been badly injured.

The stone cut a wound on Herbert's side abdomen deep enough to show the bone.

Fortunately, Herbert was quite strong because it had been eating well and exercising a lot in the past year.

Any weaker dogs would have died.

As soon as the car stopped at the entrance of the pet hospital, Mia untied her safety seat and jumped out. She rushed towards the pet hospital.

When Athena and Byron followed in, Mia was crying sadly with Herbert's head tightly held in her arms.

Athena could vaguely hear Mia murmuring, "I thought you were dead! What should I do without you, Herbert!"

Athena looked at her and couldn't help but laugh.

Byron looked at her and asked, "Why are you laughing?"

"I just remembered that Mia was more devastated when you rescued Herbert last year. She thought Herbert wouldn't survive. Then Evie tried to comfort her and said, 'With your father here, even the god of death would kneel and run away.""

"Evie flattered me. Thank goodness Herbert was rescued."

As Byron spoke, he suddenly thought of something and turned serious.

Athena knew what he was thinking and nodded slightly. "Yes. Thank goodness Herbert was rescued."

Otherwise, who would be there to save Mia without hesitation this time?

"We need to thank Sally." Athena continued, "Yesterday, the water was so fast, but she rushed in and carried Mia out."

"Yes." Byron nodded, "I will."

He had a list in his mind, recording everything, good or bad.

When Herbert first saw Mia, it wagged its tail weakly but happily.

But in five minutes, Herbert got tired of Mia crying.

Herbert was bored and looked at Athena occasionally as if saying, "Talk to your daughter and stop her from crying!"
