Chapter 1949 Was She Crazy or Not?

Jacob lowered his eyes. "Or what? Why do you think the Campbell family was forced to make a choice? Why didn't we dare to bring Maura back even after you lost your memory?"

As he was saying, he looked up at Byron. "Because I know how cruel you are."

"So, it's still your own choice." Byron said mercilessly, "You are smart. There are so many ways for you to free your sister, but you have never fought for her. Why is that? Do you need me to say it for you?" "Byron, don't be sophomoric. Do you still want me, the victim, to take the blame for you?" Jacob roared angrily.

Byron was still the same, standing there calmly.

"You have been working for me for many years, so you should know my temper well." Byron continued, "Was I really going to kill your sister? You didn't free her because you were afraid that after she came out she would cause you more trouble. I think this is also how you told your grandparents, right?"

Byron paused, and then he mimicked what Jacob might say unhurriedly and without any emotion. "Byron didn't say we could take her out, so we can't do it now. If she secretly comes out and is found by Byron, the Campbell family will be in trouble."

Jacob's face turned pale, and then it turned red all the way to his ears.

"As for whether your sister was crazy or not, it was clearly stated in the hospital files."

Jacob's breathing became a little rapid.

"Also, this."

Byron took out a small remote control from his pocket.

Then he turned on the LCD screen in the private room.

Jacob and Athena looked over at the same time.

Maura's face appeared on the screen.

She was much thinner than the first time Athena met her, and her face was so pale that there was no trace of blood on it.

"What is this?" Jacob looked sideways at Byron in panic.

"Monitor footage in her ward," Byron replied.

Jacob's breathing became more rapid.

Then Maura's voice rang in his ears. "Jacob, you will be here soon. This time, will you take me home?"

Jacob turned his head stiffly and looked at the screen as if he had been struck by lightning.

Maura chuckled, "I just found out yesterday that Byron only planned to keep me here for half a year. The doctor asked you if you wanted to take me home for Christmas! You said no, and you said it's good for me to stay here!"

Maura accidentally heard the conversation between doctors and nurses.

"Every time you come to visit me, you say I'm good and that I know how to be obedient and sensible. You also say I won't cause trouble anymore! But you still want to lock me here!" Maura wiped her face in collapse. "You are my brother. How much do you hate me? Even Byron said I can leave, but you still keep me here!"

As she finished talking, she seemed anxious.

She paced around a few times and then came back to the camera.

"Today is your last chance! I will beg you one more time. If you still refuse to sign me out, I will make you regret it for the rest of your life!"

"No, it's not like that..." Jacob murmured.

After that, Maura made a gesture of explosion towards the camera.

Then she laughed and left the scene humming.
