My Mommy Became A Billionaire After the Breakup -
Chapter 1963 The Disappearance
When Athena arrived at Lakin, she took off her shoes in the hallway.
Alice rushed over, holding a new dessert she had created.
Alice said happily, "Chelsea, this is your favorite flavor!"
Athena looked somewhat exasperated. "Alice, take it to the dining room. I'll change my shoes and join you." Alice nodded eagerly. "Alright, should I put Mr. Crawford's dessert in the dining room too?"
Athena asked, "Why didn't you give it to him during lunch?"
Alice replied, "Mr. Crawford isn't at home."
Athena was surprised. "He isn't at home?"
Alice nodded and said, "He left before dawn."
Athena had seen Martin in Lakin when she arrived.
Athena inquired, "Did you see him leave?"
Alice, looking anxious, nodded. "I saw him leave around four or five o'clock. He drove out of the garage." "Alone?" Athena asked.
While asking, she sent messages to Martin: [Does Byron have any work plans for today?]
Alice replied, "Yes, he was alone."
Martin quickly responded: [Mr. Crawford has no work plans today. He has been home all day.] Athena raised an eyebrow.
With a cold expression, she went straight to her bedroom on the third floor.
Upon opening the door, everything appeared normal.
Although Alice didn't know what was happening, she was hesitant but followed Athena.
"Did you clean the third floor today?" Athena asked.
Alice shook her head. "Mr. Crawford said he didn't want anyone coming up without permission." Athena's annoyance began to turn into worry.
She instructed, "Call Mr. Crawford."
Alice quickly obeyed, but the phone call revealed that the number couldn't be reached.
Athena's face became even more severe.
"Chelsea, Mr. Crawford might be busy with work." Alice tried to console Athena.
Athena responded, "Mia and Aiden will be home soon. You go and prepare for their arrival." Alice nodded and quickly went downstairs.
Athena struggled to regain her composure as she paced back and forth in the room.
After her initial frustration, Athena started to feel concerned.
Their family had faced numerous challenges over the past two years.
Byron had driven out despite his leg not being fully recovered.
While she was lost in thought, Athena suddenly felt something sharp underfoot.
She furrowed her brows and found a pill on the floor.
Her gaze shifted to the pill bottle on the bedside table.
The medicine bottle was placed there nicely.
As Athena opened the cap and checked inside, her expression changed.
The pills she opened a few days ago were now less than half left.
Overdosing this medication might not be fatal, but it could have unpredictable side effects.
Athena hurried downstairs and entered the room with the house's surveillance equipment.
"Mrs. Crawford, why are you here?" Dorian was already inside.
Athena spoke lowly. "Pull up the elevator and garage surveillance footage from around four or five in the morning." The person in charge of surveillance quickly complied.
Dorian asked, "What's going on?"
Athena remained silent, her face stern.
The surveillance footage showed Byron in a rush, appearing at fifteen to five this morning.
He looked distraught, with messy hair, as if he was having a phone conversation.
When he reached the garage, he said on the phone, "Find a good hiding place. I'll be there soon."
