Chapter 2048 He Had It Too

"Byron, we've just come back from the hospital. Let's go upstairs to change clothes before seeing Pixie," Athena grabbed Byron, who was about to go to the living room.

Aron glanced at Athena subconsciously.

Athena dodged his gaze and took Byron upstairs.

Byron went to the cloakroom and changed into home clothes after entering the room.

As he came out, Athena pulled him to sit on the bed.

"Byron, after we go down later, don't hug Pixie. Her Nanny said that if you hug her too many times, she will develop a habit and keep asking for hugs, which is not good," Athena said gently. Byron didn't think there was anything inappropriate and nodded. "I understand."

As he said that, he suddenly hugged Athena, "Instead of hugging the baby, I prefer to hug you."

Athena laughed softly and hugged Byron back.

"Byron, I want you to accompany me to Gaston after the camping."

"Gaston? What are you doing there? Work?" Byron asked in confusion.

"Yeah," Athena responded.

"Okay, when are we going? I need to arrange the work here," Byron agreed immediately.

"Two days after tomorrow."

"That quick?"

"Yes, It is urgent," Athena looked out the window and saw that the leaves in the grove were starting to turn yellow again. Another year had passed away.

Just when she thought there would never be more hardships between her and Byron, the most difficult ordeal came.

Would everything be alright this time next year?

Athena didn't think any further.

She dared not think about whether everything would be fine the next month now, let alone next year.

Pixie was no longer in the living room when Athena took Byron downstairs.

"She was tired from playing and fell asleep after drinking milk," Evie explained.

It was the first time Evie met Byron after she knew that Byron was sick.

Evie tried her best not to show any strange emotions.

They didn't have lunch at the Lakin.

Evie and Aron didn't take Pixie with them either. They left Pixie to the Nanny and Jaxson for caring instead.

They had lunch at a restaurant near the school of Aiden and Mia.

During lunch, Athena and Evie went to the bathroom.

After walking to a place where Byron could not see them, Athena said to Evie, "Thank you."

Evie knew the reason Athena thanked her.

"I'm careless and didn't think so much at all. It was Aron who noticed your worries," Evie held Athena's arm. "Actually, you don't have to be so careful. Isn't Mr. Freed's medicine very powerful? He looks quite normal to me now."

Athena let out a sigh.

"It's always better to be careful. Pixie is too young," Athena murmured.

Evie was silent for a moment before asking, "I don't understand why Byron would come up with a personality that wants you dead?"

She had been thinking about this for the past two days.

Byron was indeed a scumbag in the past.

But he had gradually changed later. He was good to the children and Athena and even treated Evie well on account of Athena.

He loved Athena so much. How could he come up with a consciousness of wanting Athena dead?

She couldn't figure it out.

"Do you know his uncle?" Athena asked.

Evie nodded. "Suzy told me that Byron's uncle is very capable, even smarter than Aron!"

"He also has this disease," Athena's tone was calm.

Evie was surprised by that.

But what Athena said next shocked Evie even more.
