Chapter 218 Missed Appointment Again

Athena didn't have the strength to stop him, and she didn't bother to stop him either.

She thought that since it was winter, and they were both dressed warmly, there was nothing much to expose.

The next morning...

Byron, who had made love until late at night, woke up full of energy.

Naturally, he didn't have breakfast to eat that day.

But Byron looked happily at Athena, who couldn't get out of bed.

After dressing in his suit, he hugged Athena on the bed. He kissed and caressed her before getting ready to leave.

"Don't forget tonight!" Athena reminded him.

Byron walked to the door, then turned back and kissed her on the lips. "Got it. I'll definitely be home on time for dinner!"

"You better hurry and leave. You're taking forever to get out."

Athena pushed Byron's face with her hand.

Byron laughed and finally left the house.

Downstairs...

Liam saw Byron, with a beaming smile, walking downstairs.

He glanced at Byron's hand.

After Byron got into the car, Byron ruthlessly exposed him. "What? Are you addicted to yesterday's breakfast?"

"Not at all, Mr. Crawford!" Liam sat up straight.

Byron snorted coldly.

Liam silently wiped off the sweat sitting in the passenger seat, then began reporting today's schedule to Byron.

Byron had already informed him in advance. After three o'clock in the afternoon, he didn't want Liam to arrange any work for him. He was going home to have dinner. Not long after Byron left...

Evie came to see Athena.

Although Athena was in a daze from last night's lovemaking, she insisted that Byron clean up the room. Otherwise, it would be embarrassing if Evie saw the mess. "Why do you look so tired? Are you not feeling well?" Evie walked in with a bunch of things and immediately began to ask with concern when she saw Athena. "Just didn't sleep well," Athena mumbled.

Before Evie could ponder over what she said, Athena opened a bag and asked, "So many balloons?"

"Yes, you don't have to worry. I'll blow up the balloons!"

Evie immediately got to work. She spent half an hour blowing up balloons, filling up almost half of the living room.

After a while, the baby stroller delivery arrived at the door.

"This is the first gift I'm giving to my godson!" Evie assembled the baby crib.

Athena looked at the brand and exclaimed, "Why did you buy such an expensive one?"

"Expensive things are good!" Evie replied succinctly.

Athena couldn't help but laugh.

Then, Evie continued to decorate the living room while Athena looked at the crib in the study. Evie hung a cute animal mobile made of cotton fabric above the crib. There were elephants, giraffes, hippos, and more.

Athena brought over the clothes and carefully placed them in the crib, and then put the shoes inside.

"So adorable."

Athena couldn't help but say.

Finally, she brought the letter she had written the previous night and placed it on top of the clothes.

Everything was ready.

She was waiting for Byron to come back.

She hoped he would remember this gift for a lifetime.

After finishing the house decorations, Evie promptly left. Athena cooked a few dishes that Byron liked.

She checked the time.

She estimated that Byron should be home by now.

Putting on her coat, she opened the door and went out.

And then, she waited for a long time.

The elevator never opened.

Athena returned to the room. She picked up her phone to call Byron and saw a missed call from him ten minutes ago.

She probably didn't hear the phone.

He also sent her a WhatsApp message.

[Darling, I'm sorry. I won't be able to come home for dinner tonight. Something tricky came up. I might have to go on a business trip for two days.] Athena used to be Byron's secretary.

She knew that a sudden business trip was nothing out of the ordinary for him.
