Chapter 336 Under the Cherry Tree

"Maura, thank you for telling me all this." Sadie patted Maura's back. "Otherwise, I'll really push Gabe into the abyss!"

"It's okay. This is what I should do!" Maura had a considerate expression on her face.

After Sadie left, she didn't go back to Athena again and even stayed far away from her. Maura looked at Athena.

Athena noticed Maura's gaze and looked over.

Maura seemed to have won a battle, and she raised her chin at Athena.

Athena was speechless.

What an idiot.

However...

Even though Maura looked down on Athena, Athena was undoubtedly the most conspicuous person at the dinner party.

People kept wandering to her side, striking up a conversation, and saying hello.

Maura gritted her teeth.

Today was her grandparents' golden wedding dinner.

As their granddaughter, she took great pains to dress up. But in the end, an outsider stole her thunder.

Thinking about how Jacob praised Chelsea and belittled her in front of Byron...

A vicious light flashed in Maura's eyes.

She waved to a servant, hinting at him to come over.

Maura whispered a few words to the servant.

The servant was slightly taken aback. Then he nodded and trotted away.

It took a while for Athena to receive Logan's message.

It happened that she was bored in the banquet hall.

She went out, found a quiet place, and called Logan.

"Athena..."

Logan's tone was full of grievances.

"The medicine box is in the storage room, on the fourth shelf of the left," Athena said with a smile.

"Where's Mia and Aiden?" Logan muttered and asked.

"I'm attending a dinner party, and they're at home," Athena replied.

"They two heartless ones! They never take the initiative to chat with their uncle! Your son even defeat me in the game!"

The evening breeze was cool and cozy.

Athena sat under a big cherry tree, listening to Logan complain about how pitiful his life had been in the past few days. Byron went to the window to answer the phone.

At a glance, he saw the slender figure under the cherry tree.

"Mr. Crawford, the contract with..."

"Talk about it later."

Byron hung up the phone and ran downstairs immediately.

"Hey, Byron, what's the matter?" After Jacob came back after entertaining the guests, he saw Byron running downstairs eagerly.

Byron didn't reply.

In the blink of an eye, the tall guy disappeared from Jacob's sight.

Everyone present today knew Byron.

Seeing Byron running down the stairs, there was an uproar at the banquet.

"Mr. Crawford..."

Someone tried to say hello, but Byron stood on the steps, ignoring the people who were looking at him. He thought for a moment and immediately ran toward the side door in the south. When he reached the cherry tree, the slender figure just now had disappeared.

However...

"Byron, you... what are you doing here? Did you have something to tell me?" Maura looked at Byron, who was short of breath, with expectation in her eyes.

In the next second...

"Where is the girl who was sitting here just now?" Byron asked in a deep voice.

The girl who was sitting here just now...

"Byron, are you looking for Chelsea?" The shyness on Maura's face disappeared instantly. "Who?" Byron felt the name was familiar to him.
