Chapter 438 Dinner for Four

In the private room.

Evie was both anxious and angry.

Evie was anxious because her impulsive marriage was exposed before she had a chance to confess.

And she was angry because she found that Athena had secretly rekindled her relationship with Byron!

However, Evie couldn't understand that if they had rekindled their relationship, why did they send away her godson and goddaughter?

After the two little ones left, Evie was unable to kiss their soft little faces for these past few days!

Athena sat down.

She placed her sunglasses on the table with a snap.

Evie trembled.

Aron had just figured out Evie and Athena's relationship.

In short, they were extremely close friends.

Over the years, whenever Evie encountered any trouble outside, Athena would always stand up for her.

In Evie's own words, Athena was like a parent to her.

"Let me introduce myself first," Aron said.

"I remember now." Athena had recently changed her plans, and she felt that her mind wasn't working properly. Moreover, Aron looked quite different from that day. He was much more mature and stable. "You introduced yourself at the hospital that day."

"Yes," Aron nodded.

"Did you two get married?" Athena looked at Evie and asked.

Evie nodded.

Evie was scared.

She quickly explained, "I didn't try to hide it from you, really. Mr. Timberlake and I discussed it, and we decided to invite you to dinner tomorrow night. He's very considerate and even asked about your preferences. He took extensive notes..."

Byron remained silent.

He then took out his phone and messaged Aron.

"Send me your notes about Athena."

After a few seconds, Aron promptly sent the notes.

Byron saved them.

[I will arrange for someone to coordinate with your brother on the project that was mentioned last time.]

[Okay.]

After exchanging a few messages, the two men quietly put away their phones tacitly.

"Bang!"

With a forceful slam, Athena hit the table.

"Evie, are you out of your mind? A flash marriage! Do you even know his background, character, and personality? Do you know his family?"

Evie muttered, "Well, we're already married, so there's no use for you to say that. And besides, why are you blaming me? What's your story here? Don't you have any explanation, Athena?" Evie began to counterattack.

Athena didn't know what to say.

"He lied."

"Lied? You were standing together with him today, greeting the guests. That's what a couple does!"

Hearing that, Byron nodded in agreement.

Athena felt both helpless and angry.

"I'm already married and have children. How can I be a couple with him?" Athena stared at Evie and asked.

Evie quickly picked up on Athena's train of thought.

"Yeah... Yeah! You're already married and have children, yet you're still involved with him. At least Mr. Timberlake and I... We're a legitimate couple!"

Aron nodded in agreement.

He even felt a little proud.

"Mr. Crawford, it has been so many years, and you now have a lovely companion by your side who happens to be the woman you've always cared about. So, please let go of this married woman..." Evie said earnestly.

"What lovely companion are you talking about? Even if you're Mrs. Timberlake, you can't just say whatever you want." Byron's brows furrowed.

Evie's discontent grew as she mentioned Freya's name. "You know I'm referring to Freya!" she exclaimed, her tone filled with frustration.

Evie was initially fearful of Byron, but now her bravery appeared to have significantly developed.

"Athena, I ran into Freya as soon as I arrived today. She was extremely aggressive. If Mr. Timberlake hadn't arrived in time, she would've attacked me!" As she spoke, Evie turned to Aron and asked, "Right?"

Aron nodded in agreement.

Athena was speechless.
