Chapter 52 Die Together

If she was unlucky enough, she would be doomed tonight.

But even if she was meant to die, she couldn't die in such a

deserted place unknowingly.

She came here because of that bastard Byron's business.

At least, he must know about her death!

Besides, Athena knew Byron had always been omnipotent.

She believed that he must have a way to save her!

The call was connected, and her phone beeped thrice.

Athena kept stepping on the accelerator, and her foot even

became a bit numb.

Just when she thought that Byron was still mad at her and didn't want to answer the phone, she was actually through.

In an instant, tears welled up in Athena's eyes.

"Byron..."

"Miss Newton, Byron is taking a shower. What's the matter?" A gentle and pleasant voice came from the other end.

Athena's mind went blank in an instant.

She remembered this voice.

It was Ross.

Athena felt as if something had been blown up into pieces in

her mind, leaving nothing but emptiness.

"Miss Newton? Are you alright?"

"I'm okay. Wrong number.""

Athena hung up the phone in a panic, like a thief being

caught.

There was a turn just ahead.

She was briefly distracted. When she came back to her senses, she hurriedly turned left, but the front of the car still scratched against a sign beside the road. Her phone rolled off the seat.

But Athena couldn't pick it up.

Fear and despair overwhelmed her in an instant.

The cars behind were still in hot pursuit.

She vaguely saw someone sticking his head out from the window beside the passenger seat and yelling at her.

Athena glanced at the fuel gauge.

At her current speed, she couldn't go further than fifty

kilometers.

Gradually, Athena calmed down.

The afterglow of sunset dyed the sky orange, making it seem magnificent.

She would rather die than be insulted of those disgusting

men.

Moreover, she knew she would be killed after being insulted in

every possible way.

Therefore, instead of being killed, Athena would rather kill

herself.

Thinking of this, she let out a long breath.

The wound on her left hand was somehow ripped open again.

And the gauze on her hand was soaked by her blood.

She held the steering wheel with her left hand and gently touched her belly with the other.

"I'm sorry, baby. I'm afraid I can't bring you to this world. If there is an afterlife, I'd love to be your mother again."

Athena continued to drive forward.

Although she had prepared for the worst, she still hoped that a miracle could happen.

If she could escape to a town or a crowded place, she would

be able to survive.

However...

The goddess of fortune seemed to despise Athena recently.

Soon, the car ran out of gas.

The surrounding area was still barren. It was even more deserted than before.

Athena's car gradually slowed down.

However, the cars that had been chasing her were still rushing

toward her at full speed.

Athena closed her eyes.

She laughed speechlessly and even cursed.

Then, as if she had finally made up her mind, her gaze became fierce, and she suddenly turned around.

Arlan's car was among the motorcade that was chasing after

Athena.

"Arlan, what is she going to do?" The young man who was driving asked suspiciously.

Athena was indeed good at driving.

They had spent a long time chasing after her but still couldn't get her.

But now, she suddenly turned around...

Arlan wondered if she wanted to surrender after knowing that she couldn't escape.

"Quick! Let everyone get out of the way! This bitch is going to

hit us!"

Arlan turned around and hurried to pull the steering wheel.

Their cars were all running at full speed.

The drivers of two cars panicked and turned the steering wheel hard, then hit the greenbelt on the roadside.
