My Mommy’s Brave Heart (Adina and Duke) -
Chapter 1007
Chapter 1007 It took Adeena less than three seconds to directly sign the contract.
She would be going to Sea City and becoming the man's secretary in half a month. She could consider the profit of this project as her salary.
Jake sighed in relief. "Ms. Willis, I'll see you in half a month."
Adeena smiled. "It should take less than half a month. I'll go to Sea City and attend the loT exhibition in two days." "That's great." Jake felt sincerely happy. "Winters Corporation will personally welcome you then."
"I thank you in advance."

Adeena smiled faintly and sent Jake out.
Since she could not avoid being the secretary of Winters Corporation's CEO, she needed to know what kind of person the man was first.
Once she understood him, she would not be put in a passive position.
The Winters family's mansion was located in a remote and quiet spot halfway up the hill in Sea City. When standing on the balcony, the sea would be visible. When sitting at the entrance, the blue sea could also be seen.
Someone was playing a melodious piano piece in the living room, and it was serene and beautiful.
A little girl wearing a white princess dress was sitting in front of a piano. She closed her eyes slightly while moving along with the rhythm of the music.
"George, have you noticed anything wrong with Mel these last two days?" Harold closed the book in his hand and asked in a low voice.
George nodded. "There were supposed to be two more shows on her tour, but she canceled them."
"It looks like something's occupying her mind," Alden said softly. "I've asked her about it, but she refuses to say."
The rhythm of the piano suddenly became soft, as if sea waves beat heavily on the rocks, which made people feel gloomy for some reason.
Harold got up and walked over. "Mel, stop playing piano. Come and talk to us."
Mel stopped moving her fingers, and the music instantly stopped.
She raised her head, and her eyes were slowly filled with tears. Her eyes were so watery as if she would cry in the next second. "Mel, what happened?"
Harold was flustered, and he immediately wiped away Melody's tears.
George and Alden quickly walked over. The three boys surrounded their sister, and all of them looked worried as well as anxious.
"I'm fine." Mel's voice was a little husky. "I just miss Mommy."
When they heard the word "Mommy," silence instantly started to spread in the living room, almost suffocating Harold.
"It's my fault." Harold put his hand on his forehead and covered the emotions in his eyes. "That night four years ago, I cried and scared Mommy away. I made Mommy leave in anger. Mommy's been gone for four years, and she's not coming back. She doesn't want us anymore — "
"Hal, stop saying such nonsense." Melody interrupted him. "Mommy will never abandon us." "But why hasn't Mommy returned in the last four years?" Harold's eyes became teary. "If Mommy still loves us, if she still wants us, why hasn't she come back and visited us? Doesn't she know that we miss her like crazy? No, I can't blame Mommy. It's my fault. That night four years ago, why did I..." Melody held Harold's hand tightly.
That night four years ago, Mommy held a knife and stood in front of Harold's bed. He cried out in fear, and Mommy left in the middle of the night.
Since then, Mommy no longer came back.
Therefore, that night became a nightmare Harold could not get rid of.
Harold always felt that Mommy no longer came back because of what happened that night.
