Chapter 401

Adina stared at him without a word.

She recalled what the man had said in the morning.

"I never want to compete against you for custody because you risked your life to give birth to the four children. If I take them away, it would be like killing you. Would I do such a vicious thing?

"I want the kids to be with the Winters family, and you want them to be with you. So if the two of us actually get together, won't they also have a dad and a mom? "Adina, do you understand what I mean?" Adina's heart fluttered slightly. She pursed her lips, pushed open the door, and got out. "It's only been a day. How do you expect me to think about it?" she said indifferently. Duke stared at her quietly. "Okay, you can take your time to think about it."

He pulled open the door to the backseat before he carried Melody. "Did you miss Daddy?" Melody hugged his neck bashfully and spoke in a low voice. "Yes."

"Mel, come down," Adina said calmly. "Your dad's injury on his right hand hasn't healed yet. Don't move around on his body and aggravate it."

As she spoke, she took Melody from Duke and carried her.

Duke looked at her by his side and suddenly felt peace. Before the group of four could walk to the door, Harold rushed out like a happy frog. Even George, who would usually not be at home, also walked out. He stood in front of Adina, pursed his lips, and shyly called her "Mom."

Mr. Brown was standing at the door. When he witnessed the scene, he smiled so brightly that his face became even more wrinkled.

All these years, he had never seen Young Master George so happy. He truly hoped that Ms. Adina Daugherty would marry his master as soon as possible. After the children entered the mansion, they headed to the climbing mat and played with the toys. Adina put on an apron and personally cooked for the children.

Her cooking skills were already top-notch. To make up for the motherly love that George and Harold had lacked for many years, she carefully prepared a more exquisite dinner.

She made six dishes and a bowl of soup on top of the dishes that the family's chefs had already prepared. With that, the table was full of food. "Wow! There's so much delicious food today!" Harold excitedly climbed onto the chair at the dining table and sat down. Alden held Melody's hand and sat on the right side. He also patiently put on a bib for his sister. George looked at one side before he glanced at the other In the end, he sat next to Harold. Meanwhile, Adina sat on Alden's left, and Duke sat in the empty seat next to her. Therefore,

the family of six ended up sitting on one side, and the opposite row was empty. Mr. Brown massaged his forehead helplessly. "Young Master George, Young Master Harold, Young Master Alden, please come and sit here."

"No, I want to sit next to Mel!" Harold shook his head aggressively. Alden shook his head indifferently too. "I'll just sit here." Mom was on his left, while Melody was on his right. He did not want to change his seat. George had been in the last seat, next to Harold, so he directly sat on the opposite side, according to Mr. Brown's instruction. Now, he was sitting right across from Adina. There were five people over here, while only George was sitting there alone. He looked quite pitiful.

"Georgie, I'll sit with you." Adina stood up resolutely. The moment she stood up, Duke did the same. "I'll sit there as well. There will be exactly three people on each side."

Hence, Duke, Adina, and George sat on one side, while the other three children sat on the other side.

Alden instantly felt gloomy.

His mom had been stolen just like that.

"Mel, eat this. It's so delicious!" Harold kept adding food for Melody. "And this soup's really sweet. Let me feed you." Melody just obediently opened her mouth and drank the soup.
