Chapter 639

The smell of disinfectant in the ward filled his nasal cavity, and he heard the dripping sounds of medicinal fluid.

Earl sat beside the hospital bed as he stared at the bedridden woman with a blank expression.

This morning, the spy he had placed in the Winters family's mansion called and told him that this woman had taken the kids to the airport

Neither the children nor the woman deserved his attention, so he did not take them seriously.

Unexpectedly, he received another call saying that she was hospitalized.

Was she not supposed to be on the plane now? Why would she faint at the airport?

Where were the children? Did they board the plane?

Who took them abroad?

Earl touched his lips before he habitually took out a pack of cigarettes and lit one up. He frowned while he smoked.

He had always assumed that he had her fooled, but now, he realized that things were not as simple as he thought.

Otherwise, she would not have sent the children away.

"Cough!"

The unconscious bedridden woman suddenly coughed, and Earl subconsciously put out his cigarette.

Then, he chuckled in resignation.

When did he care about others when he smoked? But he actually controlled his smoking addiction because of this woman's cough. When he saw Adina's eyelashes trembling aggressively, he quickly threw the cigarette butt into the trash can.

But the woman did not wake up.

Instead, her expression suddenly changed, and she struggled on the bed.

"Don't... Don't hurt my kids...

"Give me back my babies... Dew Daugherty, give me back my babies...

"Georgie, Hal, I'm sorry. I couldn't protect you..."

She would seem sad in one moment and she would go crazy or appear to be in pain in the next. She just curled into a small figure on the bed. Earl's heart suddenly tightened.

He remembered the information that he had previously looked up.

Five years ago, after this woman slept with a strange man, a reporter photographed her, and she became the biggest joke in Sea City

Then, she got pregnant, and the Daugherty family locked her up in their warehouse for eight months. She gave birth to four babies in the warehouse, but two of them were not breathing when they were born. They were even taken from her by force.

She had to bear the pain of losing her eldest sons while she tried her best to give birth to another son and a daughter.

She was just an ordinary woman, but the pain she endured was

great

Earl pursed his lips and slowly held her cold fingers. "I'm here. Don't be scared. No one will snatch your kids again."

Adina gradually calmed down in bed.

Her breathing slowly stabilized, and her furrowed eyebrows loosened up.

Earl's phone suddenly vibrated. He picked up his phone and took a look at the caller ID before he prepared to step out and answer the call.
