My Past is Just Prologue (Janet and Nathaniel) -
Chapter 287
Chapter 287 Janet Is Smart
Donahue did not notice Janet's expression and continued, "I will continue to investigate the whereabouts of the witnesses. Don't interfere with this. Your people are not familiar with foreign countries. It is easy to alert the enemy.
"Not only you but also I am anxious to replace out the murderer who hurt your mother."
Janet hid her thoughts in her mind and shook Donahue's arm, smiling, "Thank you, Donahue."
After they chatted for a while, Ricardo came over.
"Sir, Miss, the food is ready. You can have it now."
Ricardo said with a smile.
They changed into comfortable home clothes and went downstairs to eat. Donahue had never been picky about food, but because Janet would stay here for a while, Donahue decided to hire a famous chef for her so that she wouldn't be
tired of the food.
There were various kinds of dishes on the table, and Janet could tell at a glance that this meal was specially made
based on her preferences. For a moment, she felt so warm, and her nose went a bit sour.
"Thank you, Mr. Gordon. I'm touched that you still remember what I like to eat.”
"Of course, your preferences are the most important thing. I'll not forget about them," Ricardo smiled kindly.
After Ricardo finished speaking, he looked at Donahue and nodded slightly, "Sir, I'll leave with the servants. If there's anything, you can call us."
Donahue folded the napkin and placed it on his lap. His posture was elegant. He nodded slightly, and the servants in the hall opened the door and left with Ricardo. They did not make a noise to disturb Janet and Donahue.
When Janet saw this, she sighed in her heart. Donahue loved to be quiet since he was a child. As long as he was at home, he wished that there was no sound at all.
To put it bluntly, if the house was not bright, this place would be no different from a cemetery.
Janet did not have the appetite to eat. She picked up the spaghetti with her knife and was lost in thought. She wondered what kind of lady would be with Donahue in the future.
"What are you thinking about?"
A piece of beef appeared on Janet's plate. Janet came to her senses, and something suddenly flashed through her mind. She put shrimp on Donahue's plate. She blinked her eyes and said, "Donahue, you haven't told me about what I asked you before!"
"What is it?" Donahue stopped eating and raised his eyebrows at her.
"Your future girlfriend! Do you have someone you like? Tell me about it!" Janet asked excitedly, her eyes shining with
bright light.
Seeing that Janet was so gossipy, Donahue didn't know whether to laugh or smile and asked, "You want to write more introspection reports?"
Janet still had a lot of introspection reports to write, and she didn't mind writing more. She just wanted to satisfy her curiosity. "You have to tell me even if you ask me to write ten more! I'm your cousin. Why can't you tell me about this?"
"Just eat," Donahue said concisely, picking up food for Janet.
Janet didn't want to let it go. She wouldn't sleep well if she didn't know about that. "No! I won't eat if you don't tell me!"
Donahue twisted his lips and looked at her with majesty. He frowned slightly, and his eyes were cold, looking like a strict senior.
Janet had been raised by Donahue and knew his temper since she was a child. Although she was afraid of him, she could tell when he was really angry and when he was just scaring her.
So she looked back with a fierce look, "Why are you staring at me?"
But when Janet spoke so boldly, she hugged Donahue's arm and said coquettishly, "Tell me, Donahue. What kind of lady is she like?"
Donahue had no choice. He raised his hand and knocked her on the head. "She's smarter than you."
As soon as he said that, he lost in thought, and the petite figure flashed through his mind.
Indeed, that lady was smart.
After she stayed with Donahue for one night, that lady said that she had a boyfriend. She did not even tell him her name. After she put on her clothes, she ran away, as if Donahue was a terrible man and she couldn't wait to escape.
him.
Donahue shook his head and didn't know what kind of person that lady was.
He picked up his knife and fork to place the food on his plate. He looked down and saw that the shrimp that Janet had just placed on his plate had disappeared. Janet stared at him, her cheeks bulging as she chewed, like a rabbit.
"The food I picked for you is not delicious. Go replace a smart lady to prepare food for you," she mumbled.
Donahue was speechless.
