Chapter 36

(Yashira)

After painting the room for Edwin and Lorena’s baby, I went to the pack clinic to check on them before going back to the pack house to check on my own kids. After making sure Tristan and Raguel ate, I made some sandwiches for Gabriel and me. It brought back memories from when we met, and he made sandwiches for me. Balancing Raguel on my h*p and a tray on my right hand. I flashed my eyes and imagined the door opening. My eyes flashed again, and the door opened and Raguel squealed, clapping her little hands. Gabriel looks up at me from his paperwork and gets up, grabbing the tray from my hands.

“You look exhausted baby”, Gabriel says.

“I am, but I wanted to make sure the kids were fed, and I made some sandwiches for us” I told him. Just then, his stomach growled loudly, making me giggle. We sat down and began to eat while Raguel nibbled on her water teether.

“Yashira, I wanted to talk to you about something”. The fact that Gabriel used my name lets me know that it was serious, so I gave him all my attention. He gets up and goes to his desk and grabs the yellow envelope from earlier. He opens it and starts showing me all the pictures I had seen earlier. I didn’t say anything and waited for him to explain.

“Ashley was seen talking to one of the hunters who took you. She’s also been gathering rogues to join her pack of rogues. She’s the rogue Luna and is planning on attacking us to try and take the pack from us. But she’s not stopping there. From what we gathered, she’s also going to take over other packs”, my mate says. That’s when memories began to surface of times that Gabriel told me he was dealing with rogues attacking his pack and the day of grandma’s party.

“You say she’s the rogue Luna?” I ask and he nods.

“Yes. What are you thinking?” he asks.

“Do you remember after we met?” I asked and he nodded.

“You told me you were getting attacked by rogues and hunters were spotted. What if all those attacks were Ashley’s doing?” I said, making Gabriel look thoughtful.

“Yes, at your grandma’s birthday party, after Martin came to get you, I sat down waiting for you and she sat on my lap, dug her claws into my back and kissed me”, hearing my mate tell me that she did that made my b***d boil and the lights in the office began to flicker, the tray shook, and the windows vibrated. Raguel squealed and clapped her little hands at the same time that Gabriel cupped my cheek.

“It’s in the past, baby. I’m all yours, my love. I’ve always been yours” he says, and k****s my lips just as Raguel moves forward and touches our faces. We both chuckle and k**s her forehead.

“I threatened to banish her if she ever did that again, but then there was the attack on the pack. A couple of days later, she rejected me as her Alpha and her tether snapped. So, now that you say this, I think she was the one behind all the attacks”, Gabriel says.

“Then we need to get our people ready because we don’t know when she’s going to attack. We also need to inform our allies of what’s happening and who the rogue Luna is. She couldn’t have made this group on her own, so we have to assume she has found her mate or has help from another source”, I said. I could see Gabriel smiling at me, which made me tilt my head in confusion.

“Why are you smiling?” I asked.

“Because I love you and I love how you take charge” he growled, making Raguel coo and putting her hands up for her daddy’s face. Gabriel took Raguel in his arms.

“Why don’t you go rest, my love? We’re training again this evening”, Gabriel informed me, and I nodded. I got up and kissed his lips before kissing our daughter.

“By the way, we need to think of something to celebrate Tristan’s birthday. I was thinking about doing it on Friday”, I told him.

“But that’s two days from now” he says.

“Which means we need to get working then. I’ll take a quick nap and the girls, and I will get to work on it”, I told him, and left the office. I went up to our room and I lay on the bed feeling exhausted. As soon as my head touches the pillow I’m out cold.

(Joel)

I was waiting for my mate Andy to get back to our home from training. After helping my sister and talking to her about wanting Andy to turn me into a werewolf and having her full support, I knew that this was what I really wanted. All I needed to do was to talk to Andy about it.

I never in a million years would’ve thought about werewolves, witches, vampires, or any other type of supernatural creature existing, but it lets us know that just because we don’t see them, hear them, or even know about them doesn’t mean they don’t exist.

I heard the front door open and then close. A few seconds later, Andy stands in front of me. He leans down and k****s my lips. I k**s him back, then nip his bottom l*p, which I know he likes. Pulling apart, he sits down on the chair next to me.

“How was your day?” he asks.

“It was good. I helped Yashira do a few things” I said, biting my bottom l*p. I do that when I’m nervous. Andy pulls me out of my chair onto his lap.

“What’s wrong baby?” he asks. I close my eyes and take a deep breath to calm my pounding heart. There’s nothing I need to be afraid of. Andy is my mate, and he loves me.

“I want you to turn me” I said. I wait for him to say something but when he doesn’t, I open my eyes to see him looking at me with a soft smile.

“Are you sure that’s what you want?” he asks.

“Yes” I replied.

“Okay. When do you want to do it?” he asked, and my eyes widened, knowing he had just agreed to it so easily.

“We have no idea when that psycho is going to attack. So, I want to do it as soon as possible. Today would be perfect” I said.

“Are you doing this because you want to or because of the war that’s coming?” he asks.

“A small part of me is doing this because of the war. I want to be able to protect those I love and care about, which includes you. But a bigger part is because I want to. I want to be able to go on runs with you. I want to fight alongside you, and I want to be able to protect you just like you want to protect me”, I admitted. He smiles and k****s my lips again. When he pulls back, he places his forehead on mine.

“It’s going to be painful” I could hear the worry in his voice.

“I know, but with you and the people I love by my side, I know I can do it” I assured him. He sighed heavily and for a second I thought he was going to back away from it. He never liked seeing me in pain. When he was on tour with me, after every concert I always got a headache and it got to the point that I got very sensitive to noise, light, and even got nauseous. After Christmas, I went to the doctor and Maggie told me I was suffering from migraines and prescribed me some medication.

“Okay. You need to eat and drink plenty of fluids. I’ll go talk to Gabriel, Jake, and Doctor Maggie. I’ll be back in a little while” he says, picking me up and placing me where he was once sitting.

“I’ll order some pizza for us”, I told him. He nods and leaves the house to go talk to Gabriel and the others.

I’m in the pack clinic with my mate, Gabriel, Jake, Yashira, and Doctor Maggie. To tell you I was afraid would be an understatement.

“We’ll give you some time” Maggie said, and they all walked out of the room. When the door closed, I looked at my mate.

“Are you sure about this? Once I bite you and inject my venom into your system, there’s no going back”, I told him.

“I’m sure” he smiled. I walked over to him and kissed his lips. I pulled back from the k**s and kissed his forehead. My canines elongated. I licked his shoulder before biting down hard. Joel’s right hand went to my hair and gently caressed it as if letting me know he was okay. I bit harder until I hit the bone, making him grunt. After a few seconds, I retracted my canines and licked the b***d clean, then helped him lay down. I laid my head on his chest as my wolf whimpered. The thought of causing our mate the slightest bit of pain, pained me and my wolf. Joel closed his eyes, but I couldn’t. I needed to make sure everything was going to be okay.

About ten minutes later, Joel’s eyes snapped open and he let out a scream. I pulled back and looked at him. He was sweating, his skin was hot to the touch, and he looked a little pale. The room door burst open, and Yashira was looking at her brother. I couldn’t help the whimper that left my lips. Yashira placed her hand on my shoulder.

“Be strong. He needs you now more than ever” she said in such a soft and calming voice that I felt myself calming down. She was right. I needed to be strong for my mate. Another scream left his lips and Yashira walked around to her brother’s side and took his hand in hers. She held his hand for a few seconds, and he began to calm down. He turned his head and looked at her. She looked at him and for a second I swear I thought they were talking through their own link.

“You can do this. You are strong and determined. We are all here for you, especially your mate who is right here by your side. If I know anyone who can get through this… it’s you, big brother”, she kissed his forehead and when she pulled back I saw her eyes were those of her priestess. Yashira looked at me and smiled.

“I’ll be outside if you need me. By the way, I think it’s best if you take him outside” she said, before walking out the room. I had no idea why she said this, but she’s my friend and our Luna. I picked up my mate and walked out of the room and out the pack clinic. I gently placed him on the floor, and I felt him sigh as the cool night air caressed his body. One by one, bones began to c***k and reshape. This continued for what seemed like hours, but I knew it for about an hour or so.

Screams of pain, bones breaking, and reshaping filled the once quiet night. Then I noticed his claws extracting, followed by his canines. I looked at Gabriel, our Alpha, to see his eyes widening.

“Impossible, it should take him another two and a half hours before showing the first signs of transformation” he said in disbelief. I looked back at my mate to see light grey fur coming out of his skin. His snout elongated. His transformation lasted about an hour and now my beautiful, handsome mate laid on his side panting in his wolf form. He was beautiful. His fur is light grey with some patches of darker grey. I quickly undressed and shifted to my brown and grey wolf. I gently nudge my mate before licking his snout, making his tail wag.

‘Baby, open your eyes’, I linked him. He opened his eyes and looked around. I nudged him again and he slowly sat up. He stood on wobbly legs but managed to stay up. He stood in front of me and licked my ear before he walked over to Gabriel and Yashira, bowing his head in submission. Yashira smiled at her big brother and rubbed right between his ears.

“I told you, you could do it” she smiled widely at him, and he licked her face, making her laugh.

“Gross” she giggled while wiping her face, and Gabriel chuckled.

“Go have your first run with your mate, big brother. I’m proud of you”, Yashira kissed the top of his head before turning and going back to the pack house with Gabriel. Joel’s tail wagged as he looked at his sister walking away. I playfully nipped his tail, making him yelp. I took off running but I knew my mate was right behind me.

We ran for hours, we played tag, and let our wolves take over so they could hunt together. I was glad that I got the chance to do this with my mate and I was looking forward to many more. We decided to head back to the house and take a shower. I washed him and he washed me. I grabbed a towel and handed it to my mate, and I grabbed another one for myself. After we put on our boxers, we laid down on the bed. I knew he was exhausted so I pulled him closer to me and kissed his mark.

“I love you, baby” my mate whispered.

“I love you too, my love” I said back. I closed my eyes and let sleep take me over.
