My Second Chance Alpha Mate -
Chapter 42
(Yashira)
I opened my eyes and looked around. I found myself under a massive, beautiful willow tree. I sat up and looked around again. I don’t recognize this place. Where is everyone? Where is my mate? My kids?
“Hello Yashira”, I froze at the sound of a familiar voice. I turned around and my eyes widened. Ana stood in front of me looking beautiful in a light blue sundress.
“Ana” I whispered, which made her smile.
“It’s good to see you again Yashira”, she gave me a sweet smile. Wait, Ana is dead. Does this mean I’m… dead?
“Am I… dead?” I asked, looking around.
“No. You’re in a coma” she said, and I looked at her in confusion. I don’t remember getting injured during the fight. I mean not to the point that my body would slip into a coma.
“You brought nine warriors and a former Alpha back from the dead, Yashira, but it wasn’t just their bodies that you brought back. You also brought back their wolves, which took a lot out of your body, my dear. Not to mention the Alpha was dead for over ten minutes. Your body and magic need to rest” she says before sitting down under the willow tree. I sat down as well, and she smiled.
“What?” I ask.
“I knew you were the perfect person to pass my powers on to you” she smiled.
“I have watched as Blair taught you all that she knows, and I have been watching you learn my books by heart. I’ve been watching you with the coven and I’m glad that the Alpha and you took them into your pack” she says.
“More than half of them have mates within the pack. It was no big deal”, I shrugged, but I knew that even if they weren’t mated to anyone in the pack Gabriel would’ve found a way to keep them in the pack.
“Yashira, what you did… bringing those people back to life… it was a very big risk bringing so many back at once, but somehow you managed to pull it off. Next time, try to do it at least so you won’t slip back into a coma, though your body is always going to need rest afterwards. But there’s one thing I need to talk to you about” she said, and I turned my body towards her, so she could know she had my attention.
“There’s a fine line between dark magic and white magic. You are able to use both to protect those who need to be protected, but sometimes we forget that there’s a fine line between dark and light. Sometimes we lean more towards the dark side and that’s where we lose ourselves. Blair saw that you were leaning towards the dark side more tonight and if it hadn’t been for your mate and brother… there wouldn’t be no stopping you. Don’t let the darkness consume you. Fight it just like you fought when you were taken by the hunters. Do it for your kids, your pack, your friends, your mate, your family, but most of all, do it for you. With your powers, you can achieve many things in life and help many people. I can see so much good in you, and I know you can do this. I believe in you, just like your mate believes in you”, she smiled before standing up.
“I have to admit, at first I thought that you were a little crazy, but I wanted you to be calm so I could get help for you when you were attacked by the rogues, but then I found out that you weren’t crazy, and I had accepted your powers. It was a difficult journey because I had no idea what was really going on with me, but Gabriel and the others helped me. But I have to admit, I see a whole new world now and I want to thank you for choosing me. I will always fight to keep the darkness away and don’t let it consume me. I won’t let you down, Ana”, I assured her.
“I know you won’t, and neither will your daughter” she smiled.
“What do you mean?” I asked.
“Raguel will take over for you when you are ready, and she will be more powerful than you. Make sure you teach her well. Now, your body will need to rest. This way, you can get back to your mate and kids” she waved before she disappeared into thin air. I was still trying to process everything she said. Feeling exhausted, I laid back down on the soft, green grass and closed my eyes to get some rest.

(Yashira)
I don’t know how long I was asleep for, but when I woke up I felt a presence nearing. I stood up to my feet and looked around to see Lacey and Malik walking towards me. They looked like the perfect couple, and I couldn’t help but smile at them.
“We meet again, but this time in different circumstances” Lacey says with a sad smile.
“I know. I know I overused my powers, but… I don’t regret what I did” I said, looking at them.
“We know. Just like we know that if you could do it again, you would”, Malik says.
“Yashira, we know that you love helping people and now being a high priestess… I know you will use your powers to help those that need it. When you wake back up, you need to continue practicing. Even if you know everything Madam Blair teaches you and you learn everything in Ana’s books… a high priestess never stops learning”, Lacey says.
“None of us do. Every species, including humans, is always learning something new and you have just learned you can bring the dead back, but you have a time limit. Just like my son, if the person has been dead for over ten minutes you can’t bring them back or this…” Malik gestured to me, being here “… could happen or even worse.”
“So, Tristan can also bring back the dead?” I asked them, forgetting what they had said about the ten minutes. Lacey smiles, shaking her head.
“Malik tells you that if you continue to bring people back that have been dead for over ten minutes you could go into a coma or worse… you could die and the only thing you asked about was about Tristan bringing back the dead as well”, she shook her head again in amusement.
“Yes, Tristan can bring back the dead, but he won’t use that power anytime soon. It’s too dangerous for him”, Lacey says.
“I agree. I know he helped me save Andy once, but I don’t want him to do that again. He should be playing with his toys and friends, not helping me save someone”, I said.
“I agree, but it’s too late for that. The bond that Tristan and you share is very strong and he will replace a way to help in any way he can and still be a child. This is his destiny and no matter what path he chooses, it will lead him to the same path”, Lacey says. I felt a warmth in my hand before moving up my arm and into my chest, then down my body.
“You should rest. Your body and powers need it. Please, tell my son how much I love him”, Lacey says. Malik pulls her into a hug.
“I will” I assured her before lying back down under the willow tree. My eyes began to get heavy again, so I closed them and let darkness overtake me again.

(Gabriel)
It has been three weeks since the war. It has been very difficult, but I know Yashira wouldn’t want me to stop taking care of our pack and kids just because she’s in a coma. So, I continued with my duties as an Alpha and took care of our kids and even went to visit my mate every night. Sometimes, I would take the kids to see her as well. It was hard at first because Tristan would ask why his mommy was sleeping so much. How can you explain to a four year old child that she was in a coma from bringing back the dead? So, I told him that mommy was very tired from fighting bad people and that her body and powers needed rest. He seemed to have understood that. So, every time that we came to see her, he would lay next to her hoping she would wake up. When Raguel fell asleep I would lay her next to her mom and watched as she snuggled closer to her mom.
Today I have a meeting with the Elders here at the pack. They want to come and see the surviving rogues from the attack which we still have in our dungeons. The rogues who were forced to fight because Ashley had their families were more than thankful for our help in getting their families back. I asked if they wanted to join any packs that I would call my allies to see if they would take any of them in. I was glad when they agreed to go to different packs.
‘Alpha, the Elders have arrived’. Andy links me.
‘Thank you, Andy. Let them through’ I link back. I got up from my chair and walked towards the door, opening it. As soon as I step out, I feel a small hand hit my leg. I looked down to see Raguel crawling past me, behind her a relieved looking Rhonda.
“Sorry Alpha, she’s fast” Rhonda says and I can’t help but chuckle.
“It’s okay, Rhonda. I’ll take her since you have an appointment with Doctor Jena”. Her eyes widened like she had forgotten about her appointment. Just then, Noah walks in and looks between me and his mate.
“She forgot, didn’t she?” Noah asks and I can’t help but laugh. I decided to give her a break.
“No, she was just leaving now” I said, picking up Raguel. Raguel squeals and buries her face in my chest. Noah and Rhonda leave just as the Elders’ car pulls up. I walk out the door and stand at the top of the stairs as the Elders get out of the car.
“Alpha Gabriel, it’s nice to see you again” Elder Alexa smiles.
“Elder Alexa, it’s nice to see you again too”, I smiled back. Elder Alexa looks at Raguel and smiles tenderly at my daughter.
“And who is this precious little girl?” Elder Alexa asks.
“This is my daughter, Raguel” I said.
“Angel of justice” Elder Thomas says.
“Elder Thomas, Elder Lyle, Elder Rod, Elder Rose, welcome, please come in” I said, stepping aside to let them in.
“Thank you, Alpha Gabriel” Elder Rod says. We walked to my office, and we all took a seat.
“Would you like anything to drink?” I asked them.
“Coffee, please” they all say in unison. I nodded and linked one of the Omegas to bring six coffees, some snacks, and a bottle of juice for Raguel. I put Raguel on my lap as I turned my attention to the Elders.
“How is Luna Yashira doing?” Elder Lyle asks.
“Still the same. There hasn’t been any change yet” I admitted. They knew what had happened with the war and how Yashira ended up in a coma. Raguel began to slap her little hands on the desk and babble a little, which made the Elders smile at her. There was a soft knock on the door.
“Come in,” I called. Jake walked in and behind him was the Omega with the coffee, snacks, and Raguel’s bottle. She bowed her head in respect, placing the coffee on the table along with the snacks, but handed me Raguel’s bottle. Raguel squealed, making the elders chuckle.
“How many rogues are in the dungeons?” Elder Rose asks.
“Fifteen. All the dark warlocks and witches who helped them are dead. You already know about Kyle and Ashley. You also know about the last hunter who I killed myself. The other assassins that were working with Kyle and Ashley are also dead. The rogues who didn’t die that night are in my dungeons” I said.
“What did you do with all the bodies?” Elder Alexa asks.
“Madam Blair took care of the bodies” I tell them, and they nod. They have known Madam Blair for over a century.
“Agoo” Raguel slaps the desk again before reaching for a cookie. I take the cookie and take out a small, tiny piece before crumbling it in her mouth. I have continued this a few times.
“What do you suggest we do with the fifteen rogues?” Jake asked. I keep giving Raguel some of the cookie, but this time I leave my finger too long in her mouth and she bites me with her four little teeth, catching me by surprise.
“Ouch” I say, looking at Raguel who laughs and squeals, clapping her little hands. I kissed her forehead before I continued giving her the cookie.
“We should just sentence them to death. It would be easy to get it done and over with. These rogues have caused enough problems” Elder Lyle says. When suddenly, the door to my office opens and everyone in the office freezes at what they see. There stood my mate in a white sundress that reached the floor. Her hair was in a side braid and beside her, holding her hand, was Tristan. His golden eyes were softly glowing.
“My apologies for being tardy, Elders. I’m Luna Yashira”, my mate said with a small bow in respect. This is the first time she introduces herself as Luna.
