Chapter 47:The End

Lucian awoke from his lethargic slumber, a well-deserved rest was what he had needed for a long time. Since he had to watch over Sophia he hardly ever took such long naps, but that day his respite was over. The albino’s scent was changing that meant her child was about to be born. She stood up stretching her body more mature than before.

-It’s time to meet you Daren, your new life begins today.

He walked out of the cave becoming a wolf, he stretched his paws a little numb as he had not turned for a few months. He sniffed the air, smelling the scent of Sofia, he ran towards her since the scent of the puppy was very present… after a few minutes Lucian arrived at Sofia’s hut and saw her accompanied by an old woman. He had been seeing her quite often in the last few months, apparently she was the midwife of the albino wolf pack.

The wolf would do nothing until she saw her cub born, for the time being the old woman would help the mother bring the child to life. I watched carefully from some bushes, the suffering Sophia was going through was inexplicable. But something was wrong with the birth, the baby could not get out of the mother, if it continued like this it would die, Lucian thought about intervening even if he had to cut the mother open to save the puppy. But then he realised that Sofia had transformed into a wolf, and it was then that she gave birth to a puppy.

Lucia’s eyes widened as she realised that her son was born a wolf cub, not a human as they were all born. The midwife took the baby just as Sofia returned to normal, both were very surprised as well as himself. At that moment he heard the old woman say that he should talk about this anomaly with his alpha but Sofia forbade it, he smiles, the girl was very silly just to protect her son… now he only had to wait a couple of months more to take him with him, Lucian turned around and disappeared from the place.

A few months passed and the albino wolf watched constantly the evolution of his puppy, one day the mother of the little one went out to hunt, she couldn’t deny it, Sofia was very good. She thought about it a lot and maybe she would appear again in her life, she had wolf needs… the cub stayed in the hut alone, as soon as his mother came back with the food the little boy attacked the wolf without contemplation. Lucian was astonished by the boy’s aggressiveness towards the woman who brought him into the world. He felt like intervening but preferred to let things take their course, it was important to know how far the boy would go.

He watched as his son attacked the she-wolf he once held in his arms, unfortunately he had no feelings for her… suddenly what Daren did left Lucian’s mouth open, the boy ripped out his mother’s heart and swallowed it in seconds. The alpha albino felt the pup’s power grow considerably which brought a smile of victory to his father’s face. So the mother wolf’s heart was giving him some power to begin with, now that was interesting.

Suddenly the matriarch arrived, and Lucian thought he would kill her too, but he only stepped over her and lost himself in the forest. This was her chance to take the boy and educate him properly. The albino wolf took one last look at Sophia and then went after the boy who was running aimlessly through the forest… he followed him in seconds prostrating himself before him.

-Stop, boy.” His father growls at him.

-Who are you? -The cub bared his teeth, bathed in his mother’s b***d.

-I am your father, my name is Lucian.

-The woman who gave birth to me told me you abandoned her.

-Yes, it was necessary. Now you must follow me, I will teach you how to survive in this world.

-I can take care of myself.

-FOLLOW ME! -He growls loudly, making the boy crouch his ears in total submission.

Lucian took him to his cave where they would both live until the boy was old enough to make a life for himself, create his own empire and most important of all grow his powers. After Daren achieved all that, he would take it all away from him. But the first thing he had to do was to impress upon himself that he needed to leave a son in this world, since Lucian would be the sole beneficiary of his dependencies.

-Yes, I’ve had enough of living in this filthy cave.

-I don’t want to see you in this place again, you are forbidden to return.

-As if I want to come back, old man,” the young man snarls back.

-You’ve been warned what to do, don’t be such an idiot to let your only zeal pass you by.

-I know! Don’t bother me!

Daren slips on his leather jacket and makes his way to the exit without looking at his father, who remains seated in his seat. It had been annoying for him to stay in his company for so many years, but at least he had given him a good workout, like hiding his scent.

-Will you create a herd in the forest? -Lucian asked as they watched him leave.

-Who the hell wants to live in this miserable place, I’ll live with the humans. They’re easier to handle,” he smiles, walking away from the old man.

Lucian thought his son had brought out a rather strange quality, he rested his head on his palm and called out in thought to his oldest and most faithful soldier.

-Follow him, I want to know where he stays, who he mixes with. All his movements, and even the she-wolf he chooses to impregnate her.

The alpha sees his boy leaving knowing that he would do a good job, the rest was just waiting for him to get that great power that his son was beginning to create, he was already more than anxious. Probably with it he would be able to destroy Eren once and for all.

Daren arrived in a town that seemed perfect for him to live among the filthy humans, none of them were up to his ankles but at least he would keep a low profile. No wolf would know of his presence as long as he mingled with the humans his essence would remain a secret. He smiled because he would create his empire there, he would be like a king. All he needed was to know the customs of the place.

He continued walking through the streets and found a place quite crowded by humans, he was curious and went into that place… the smell of alcohol was nauseating, Daren spotted a bar where women were serving drinks. He approached them earning appreciative smiles from the girls.

-What can I get you, handsome?

-What is this place? -The woman looked at him confused.

-It’s a bar, what else?

-A bar?

-Yes, where they serve drinks and you have a good time. Now what are you going to drink?

So that’s where the humans were having fun, it seemed like a good place to start where doom abounded in every corner. He looked around, realising that more and more people were coming in every minute.

-Where is the owner?

-Over there.” The woman points to a large, fat man sitting with two skinny girls beside him with a grim expression.

Daren walks towards him, fully determined to make a future for himself… he approaches the table where the fat man was drinking and laughing with other guys who looked like they lifted weights every day. Daren clenches his fists into a ball and then grabs the table and flips it over. The fat man pushes the women aside as his guards stand up.

-You’ve just signed your death warrant,” the fat man confirms with a laugh.

-Yours is the one that’s signed.

At that Daren punches the fat man in the neck through his skin. The guards saw what was happening and the man hit his breasts so hard that he threw them away, the other man’s arm was broken, followed by his neck. In the bar there was a commotion about what was happening, Daren seeing that no one else was interfering wiped his hand with a napkin and turned around in front of the customers.

-Now I’m the new owner of this place, and anyone who doesn’t like it can leave. And anyone who wants to follow me, I’ll make them incredibly rich,” he smiles.

From that moment on Daren earned a reputation for murder and danger, becoming the town bully that no one would play one on… except for Steven, a crafty guy who liked to drink too much and be left in debt.

-So Steven, how do you plan to pay back what you owe me?

-Mr Daren I… -Mr Daren I…

-I hear you have a nice house, you know I don’t like to have parties at my house. But I thought we could host them at yours. What do you think?

-Sir…

-That would help a lot to pay off your debts at the bar.

Steven was lying on the floor at Daren’s feet begging for his life, if he didn’t agree to what he was asking he would kill him, he was sure of that.

-Yes sir, yes sir… you can do them at my place.

-Great, get everything ready. Tonight we’ll go celebrate.

As night fell Daren parked his car in front of Steven’s two-storey house. It wasn’t a mansion, it was more like a homey house… as soon as he set foot in the house he felt a very strange vibe, something that shook his whole body. Suddenly a woman caught his attention, she was brown and judging by her scent he knew she was pure. At that moment he heard how Steven spoke to her in a despicable way.

-Stupid, I told you to clean up Shery.

-Dad, who are these people?

-Shut up, that’s none of your business. Go up to your room and stay up there with your idiot sister.

-Yes,” he replies fearfully. The girl goes up the stairs but not before glancing at Daren and then running upstairs.

Daren smiles… and thinks that this young girl has to be his. She was the first human to get his undivided attention, probably because he had yet to meet a virginal one. Shery Loon would be his.

-He’s got a crush on that human, you say,” Lucian asked his informant irritably, “You f*****g prick, how dare you fixate on a filthy human. I can’t let him impregnate a human, his power won’t be passed on, he’ll just waste his damn heat.

The wolf picked at the bridge of his nose, he could do nothing else but wait… he had to trust that son of a bitch not to f**k up. It had been a few years since he left the cave and it didn’t take him long to carve out an empire among the humans. Yes, he had gained a lot of power but it wasn’t enough yet, he needed his rut to pass before he could end his pathetic life.

-F**k, how much longer will I have to wait,” Lucian looks at the wolf waiting for further instructions, “I want you to keep watching him, I want to see how far he can go with that human. His heat is not very close yet so I won’t worry about it for now.

His wolf left with new orders… Lucian leaned back a little in his chair, he felt a little numb, it had been many years since he had transformed into a wolf, but he was saving himself for a good time. He felt it, he felt that very soon he would acquire more power. The one he longed for, and after his idiot son procreated his grandson he would enjoy it too.

-Life has provided me with good things, I have nothing to complain about,” smiles the alpha, almost savouring his victory.
