Chapter 68 She Can Afford It

Cherry exclaimed. "Check it again."

The clerk looked at her awkwardly and stammered. "I've checked it several times. It's still 10 thousand short."

Cherry's face turned pale. She turned to look at Jane asking for help. "Mom, lend me some."

Jane was embarrassed. Cherry pulled her out to go shopping, and she only brought a card. She had just given it to the manager, and now she had no money.

Seeing Jane shaking her head, Cherry took a deep breath and said to the clerk, "I'll return some."

Helen exclaimed when she heard this sentence. She covered her mouth with her fingers and said to Cynthia,

"I thought she had a lot of money."

Cynthia smiled. "It's normal that she doesn't have enough money to buy all the clothes in a store."

It was an explanation, but Cherry thought it was irony. Her face flushed red. How dared Cynthia, an illegitimate daughter laugh at her?

"Cynthia, can you afford it?" Cherry became annoyed. She pointed at the piles of shopping bags behind her

and said, "Can you afford these?"

Before Cynthia could speak, a cold male voice suddenly came from behind. "Yes, she can."

"Cynthia, your man is here." Seeing Alston, Helen tugged Cynthia's arm and winked at her.

Cynthia ran up to Alston in surprise, and looked up at him. "Why are you here?"

"This shopping mall is owned by Smith Group. I'm here to inspect it today." He looked at Cynthia's excited

face.

Behind Alston was a group of people in charge of various departments of the mall.

They were a little surprised when they saw that Alston, who was indifferent and unapproachable just now, showed a doting smile on the woman in front of him.

"This is Mrs. Smith." The manager of the mall behind Alston immediately recognized Cynthia. He had seen her at Buck's banquet before and was deeply impressed by her.

Seeing the bags in Cynthia and Helen's hands, the mall manager hurriedly took them over and asked them earnestly about their shopping experience.

When the store manager saw that the mall manager was so attentive to Cynthia, cold sweat broke out on her forehead. She shrank behind the clerk, hoping that this group of people would not notice her. When several people were talking, Jane had been waiting for Alston to come over to greet her. The two families were still related by marriage. But after waiting for a long time, Alston did not come over, and Jane looked unhappy.

Cherry didn't notice her mother's expression. She stared at Alston the whole time with excitement. He was tall and wearing a black suit, attracting the attention of everyone present. Seeing that Cynthia's hair was a little messy, Alston gently brushed her hair behind her ears. Cherry was very jealous. She hoped that the woman he treated so tenderly was herself.

Cherry looked at Cynthia with jealous eyes. She walked over, trying to push Cynthia away.

Cynthia didn't expect Cherry to push her suddenly. With high-heeled shoes, she almost sprained her feet. Alston quickly pulled her into his arms and wrapped his hands around Cynthia's waist to help her stand still. Seeing Alston hugging Cynthia, Cherry suppressed the jealousy in her heart. She smiled sweetly. "Alston,

such a coincidence."

Cynthia stood aside and watched Cherry pretend to be innocent in front of Alston on purpose.

"Miss Miller, it's not a coincidence at all." Standing behind Alston, his newly recruited assistant, Lloyd Evans said with a smile, "Mr. Smith knows Mrs. Smith is shopping here, so he comes here." After hearing this, Cherry's face was full of embarrassment, but she was eager to get close to Alston. She said shamelessly, "We haven't seen each other for a long time. I know there is a restaurant on the fourth floor. I would like to treat you to a meal, okay?"

When she said this, her cheeks were pink because of her shyness. She knew which angle of herself was the

most beautiful, and she showed it.

However, Alston didn't even look at her. He looked at Cynthia and asked her gently, "Are you hungry?"

"Yes, let's treat Helen to dinner later." Cynthia looked up at him and smiled.

Alston nodded and stroked her hair. The two of them talked intimately as if no one was around, and they ignored Cherry.

Cherry was so angry that she was about to go crazy, but there was still a glimmer of hope in her heart. She looked at Alston pitifully. "Alston..."

Before she could start speaking, Helen interrupted her coldly. "Don't you see they are talking?"

"I'm talking to Alston. It's none of your business." Cherry didn't dare to get angry with Alston, so she yelled at

Helen.

Helen sneered. "Come on, everyone here can see your thoughts. You are the Miss of the Miller family, but your want to be a mistress. Don't you see your mother's ugly face? I feel ashamed for her to raise such a

daughter."/

Helen was not afraid of Cherry at all, and she said sarcastically.

Cherry realized that her mother was behind her, and she quickly turned to look at her. When she saw Jane's

gloomy face, she felt a little embarrassed.

"Mom, I didn't mean that."

"I know." Jane took a deep breath and looked at Helen with vicious eyes. "I know my daughter. You are not qualified to teach my daughter a lesson."

Cherry raised her chin when she heard this, and snorted coldly at Helen with a smug expression.

Jane walked forward with Cherry with an arrogant expression and greeted Alston.

Alston nodded, and his attitude towards Jane was very cold. Jane was a little embarrassed. She thought that she had greeted him on her own initiative, and Alston would give her some face, but she didn't expect that he

didn't take her seriously at all.

Cherry didn't notice Jane's expression. She looked at Alston's handsome face from a close distance and

asked, "Alston, can I have dinner with you?"

"No." Cynthia refused.

"I've been enduring it for a long time." Cynthia stared at Cherry with a smile in her eyes. "Miss Miller, why are you so shameless?"

Both Helen and Lloyd couldn't hold back, and they laughed at the same time.

Alston also smiled.

Cherry's face was flushed red, and she wished to scratch Cynthia's face.

"Well, do you still want this dress?"

When they were embarrassed, the clerk suddenly poked her head out and asked in a low voice, and everyone

looked over.

As the store manager cursed the clerk in her heart, she forced a smile and packed the clothes.

There were too many clothes. After they were packed, Cherry and Jane couldn't handle them at all.

"We will send someone to deliver it to your house later." Before the store manager could breathe a sigh of relief, Alston suddenly walked towards the store.

"I heard from my wife that VIPs of your store have the privilege. They can snatch the clothes other customers

have already paid for."

His voice was cold, and he was expressionless, but the store manager still felt a strong sense of oppression, and a cold sweat broke out instantly.
