A sword form beyond description suddenly condensed.

Melody's eyelids twitched uncontrollably. Nash was about to unleash his true power. She did not doubt that this strike would cleave the entire Ink Veil Sect in half.

Gwendolyn gazed at the terrifying sword sword, feeling the palpable sense of threat it carried. She could not help but feel apprehensive.

"Can't you spare me some dignity, Nash?"

An elderly woman with silver hair appeared from the mountain at the back and cut through the air in an instant, arriving before Nash almost instantly. She was wearing a Path taker's robe as she drifted aloft, her clouded eyes carrying a hint of kindness. "Huh... It's you?" Nash's expression was filled with surprise as he looked at the old woman.

This old woman had gone to Tili Mountain to search for his master several times, but unfortunately, his master was never there whenever she visited. Nash had asked her who she was, and she only said she was an old acquaintance of Johnathan.

When his master returned to the mountain, Nash mentioned this old woman to him. This only led to guilt brimming in his master's eyes. Then, he would seclude himself and drown his sorrows in alcohol. It was not hard to guess that there was some history between Johnathan and this old woman.

"You've grown so big in the blink of an eye!" The old woman smiled faintly, and the wrinkles on her face seemed to ease a bit. "Let's head down and talk!"

With that, she slowly descended to the ground. Nash kept his sword and did the same.

The old woman glanced at the terrifying mark on the ground and was filled with admiration. "You're truly worthy of being his chosen disciple. With such talent, you'll surely break free from the shackles of this world in the future!"

"Sect Master!" all the disciples of the Ink Veil Sect lowered their heads and greeted her.

The old woman waved her hand. "No need for formalities."

When Jadie saw the sect master appear, she immediately knelt on the ground, tears streaming down her face. "Sect Master, please intercede on my behalf!"

Even though her jaw had been corrected, she still spoke with a slight lisp due to her missing teeth.

The old woman clasped her hands and straightened her slightly stooped posture, looking more like an ordinary old woman. She glanced at Jadie lightly and said in a calm voice, "If you make mistakes, you must be punished. Nash spared your life, which is enough mercy." Pouting, Gwendolyn asked, "Grandmother, can't you at least discipline him a little?"

Nash not only trespassed into the Ink Veil Sect but also injured two disciples. If the culprit was allowed to go unpunished, it would be a blow to the reputation of the Ink Veil Sect.

The old woman chuckled softly. "Even I'm not his match!"

Nash's eyes flashed with a hint of golden light. 'These two are grandmother-granddaughter?' he wondered.

He observed that the old woman was over 400 years old while Gwendolyn was only 30 years old. In the realm of cultivators, one's appearance was not an accurate determination of their age. Their age could only be discerned through their bones.

Nash then glanced at their natal charts and realized that there was no blood relation between them. He concluded Gwendolyn was adopted by the old woman.

Nash breathed a sigh of relief. For a moment, he thought his master and this woman were involved 30 years ago.

"What? Is he that powerful?" Gwendolyn glanced at Nash incredulously.

The old woman said, "Didn't you see his powers just now?"

Gwendolyn looked at the sword mark on her black paper umbrella and gulped. This Spirit Parade Umbrella was one of the sect's top three spiritual artifacts. Its defense was comparable to the sect's protective array. Yet, Nash managed to leave a mark on it with a single strike.
