Ryan could not help but burst into tears after hearing Gemma's cold and heartless words. He lifted his glass and gulped down a mouthful of wine.

Just then, a group of well-dressed bodyguards suddenly walked toward the restaurant entrance. Maverick spotted Nash sitting by the window at a glance and walked over with a smile. "Nash, it's only been 28 minutes. I hope I'm not too late?" Their table had four chairs.

Ryan was about to get up to make room, but Maverick placed his hand on his shoulder. "We're all friends here. Just sit!"

Then, he said to the bodyguard next to him, "Get me a chair!"

The bodyguard quickly brought over a chair, and Maverick sat down.

The waiter came over with the menu, and Maverick ordered three bottles of Romanée-Conti.

Reyrena's eyes twitched, and she asked Nash in a low voice, "Are all your friends this wealthy?"

Nash chuckled. "They're alright!"

Maverick intended to introduce himself. However, seeing that everyone at the table except Nash was quite ordinary, he was worried about intimidating them. Hence, he smiled and said, "I'm Nash's business partner, John Doe!"

After speaking, he even gave Nash a look as if he was seeking his approval.

"John Doe? What a name!" Reyrena chuckled while covering her mouth.

However, Gemma was sizing up Maverick.

She felt like she had seen Maverick somewhere before, but after thinking for a while, she could not recall where.

Maverick casually said, "It's just a name given by my parents. Even if it sounds bad, I still have to use it, right?"

At that moment, an elderly man in a suit approached Maverick and whispered something in his ear. Maverick looked up and glanced outside the window, where several black cars had parked. A large number of people in suits and sunglasses got out of the cars. The door of the restaurant was kicked open by someone.

Forty-five men carrying baseball bats rushed in.

At the forefront was none other than the underworld king of Bint City, Howell Haddock.

He was holding a large knife wrapped in black cloth, with red silk tied around the handle.

Howell patted Sixten's shoulder and said lightly, "Six, who's the guy who hit you?" Sixten pointed to Table 1 in the VIP area. "He's over there..."

Howell coldly shouted, "Except for those at Table 1, everyone else should scram!"

All the people present were entrepreneurs from Bint City. Normally, they would avoid the members of the Furious Blade Sect. Now, seeing the leader of the Furious Blade Sect, they all turned pale with fear and quickly packed up to leave. "Nash, it's over. The person you just beat up knows Howell!" Ryan broke out in a cold sweat. He sat on the edge of his seat, feeling extremely uneasy. "What should we do, what should we do? Right, we should call the police!" Ryan took out his phone, ready to dial the emergency number.

Gemma took a deep breath. Staring at Ryan, she said, "The head of state is from the Fisher family, and he's on Howell's side!"

Upon hearing this, Ryan trembled all over and even dropped his phone on the ground.

He was doomed, completely doomed now.

Ryan looked up at Gemma and Reyrena, saying, "Today's events had nothing to do with you two. You should leave quickly!"

"Gemma, let's go!" Reyrena pulled Gemma up.

It was better to let these two be sacrificed than them. She did not believe that two businessmen could stand up to the underworld king of Bint City.

"I have an engagement with the Fisher family. They should be able to let this slide!" Gemma shook her head and then looked at Ryan. She continued, "You've helped me a lot in these three years. Now, it's my turn to help you!"
