My Substitute CEO Bride -
Chapter 1724
There were two possibilities.
The first was that Benedict had extremely powerful figures backing him up. The other was that he was just extremely skilled.
In terms of supporting figures behind the scenes, Elistan had no fear. He doubted that the worldly forces would have anything that could shock the secular sects.
In terms of his skills, no matter how talented Benedict was, there was no way he could have achieved the Profound Oriental Realm at his current age.
"Why aren't you saying anything? Are you scared?"
Benedict scoffed, the look of disdain evident in his eyes.
Laverne lost her temper before Elistan managed to. She furrowed her elegant eyebrows together as she said, "Hurry up and say yes, Elistan. Are you going to allow the secular sects to look down on us like this?"
Ethel hurriedly chimed in, "That's right, Elistan. You know, the Zen Heart Sect is a second-tier sect. You might not care about honor, but we do!"
Maggie curled her hands into fists as she urged Elistan on. "You can do it, Elistan. Beat him up so bad that he'll spend his time picking his teeth up from the ground!"
Elistan grimaced but had no other choice but to say, "Fine, let's fight. But some ground rules. If I accidentally kill or injure you, your seniors who have already achieved peak Mystique Loyalty Realm are not allowed to attack me!" He had always been secure in his position and would never have decided to challenge Benedict, whom he could not read like an open book. He only agreed because of the three gorgeous girls watching him.
Benedict said confidently, "Don't worry, they won't get involved!"
When he finished speaking, he strode toward an open area.
Elistan tapped his feet together and teleported himself over to stand in front of Benedict.
Elistan retrieved his saber without a moment's hesitation. The light refracted off of it, giving it a menacing look. A frosty expression appeared on his face. His charisma and good-looking features made him seem extremely handsome.
"Oh my god, he looks so good!" Maggie's eyes sparkled.
Elistan asked coolly, "Where's your weapon?"
"Cut the crap and launch your attack!" Benedict said impatiently.
At that, Elistan did not bother saying anything else. He channeled his spiritual energy into the saber, which immediately began humming. With a gentle shake of his wrist, he took a step forward and drove his saber toward Benedict's chest in an elegant manner. He moved so quickly that he looked like a bolt of lightning. In the blink of an eye, he was standing right in front of Benedict.
Suddenly, a gunshot rang out.
A gush of blood erupted from Elistan's kneecap.
There was another gunshot, and
blood gushed from his other knee as
well. Elistan felt an
lepain
spread through his knees. He fell to his knees before Benedict.
Conrad and the three girls from the Misty Templar Court were speechless.
What was going on?
Did Benedict use a concealed weapon? That was so shameless! How could he use a concealed weapon when he was the one who had wanted to compare notes?
Even Dallas and the others could not stop the muscles on their faces from twitching.
Gerbind covered his eyes as he said, "Holy shit, you're something else, Benedict!"
June placed a hand over her mouth as she giggled. "How very shameless, but I love it!"
Elistan glared at Benedict as he roared, "H-how dare you use concealed weapons?"
Benedict blew on the muzzle and smiled slightly. "Times have changed, my dude. This isn't a
concealed weapon. It's a firearm
that's well-known in all of Drakonia!"
Elistan leaned heavily on his saber as he got to his feet. His spiritual energy whirred as two bullets shot out from where they had entered his body.
He gritted his teeth as he said, "That was an oversight on my part. Let's have a rematch!"
The fact he had achieved the Mystique Loyalty Realm meant there was no doubt he could dodge those bullets.
Even if he did not manage to dodge them, he could still use his spiritual energy to protect himself and ensure he did not get injured by those bullets.
He had only gotten injured because he had never seen such a weapon before and was caught off-guard.
The humiliation Elistan felt at the
fact that the three girls had watched
him fall to his knees before Benedict
was overwhelming. He was determined to reclaim his dignity.
Benedict stuffed his gun back into the holster. He did not say anything as he moved from standing in front of Elistan to standing behind him in the blink of an eye.
