My Super Farming System
C11 - Hunting, Grade S

When Zhao Yuegu arrived at the vegetable patch, his eyes instantly reddened with fury.

The plot ravaged by the wild boar was his own!

The village’s land was parceled out in sections to prevent a disaster in one area from affecting the entire crop yield.

The wild boar had targeted his less than one-acre field of rapeseed.

Now, the field was a sea of blossoming rapeseed flowers, yet the boar had brutally uprooted several paths through it.

“Damn it!”

Zhao had poured so much hard work into cultivating these crops.

And now...

They were all being torn up by that damned boar!

The system had only provided him with a handful of seeds.

But faced with the wild boar, nearly as tall as a man, Zhao didn’t act rashly. He sought out higher ground instead.

As the saying goes: a boar is more fearsome than a bear, and a bear more than a tiger.

To the farmers, the threat of a wild boar surpassed that of bears and tigers!

This particular boar looked nearly supernatural, so much so that even bears and tigers would likely give it a wide berth.

At that moment, the program team, armed with electric prods and other weapons, cameras in hand, followed, eager to get closer.

“Zhao, don’t do anything rash,” the female director called out from a distance.

Lin Luqin was especially anxious.

She thought Zhao was being far too reckless in taking on the wild boar.

The boar’s fearsome tusks could gut a man with a single charge!

Yet, Zhao had his crossbow fully drawn, aiming at the wild boar weaving through the rapeseed field.

“Son of a... this beast is hooked on my rapeseed!” Zhao cursed, his heart aching.

Rapeseed could be eaten as is, pressed for oil, and its flowers were stunning in bloom.

He didn’t yet know the special properties of this particular variety provided by the system.

But considering the boar was so entranced by the taste that it couldn’t stop eating, it was clear the flavor must be exceptional!

This only fueled Zhao’s rage even more.

“The wild boar is within fifty meters.”

“A crossbow bolt can reach it, but only a shot to the eye will inflict real damage.”

“Hitting its body won’t do much; the bolt would struggle to pierce its thick hide.”

Zhao Yuegu inhaled deeply, aiming in silence, biding his time.

At last, the boar finished its meal and moved to a new spot, unwittingly revealing its eyes.

Now was the chance!

Zhao didn’t hesitate; he squeezed the trigger decisively.

He preferred to hunt the boar rather than merely scare it off, driven not just by a grudge against the creature but also by the prospect of a higher system evaluation.

An S grade would mean a superior reward.

The bolt arced through the air with incredible speed. The boar, still savoring the rapeseed, was caught off guard.

An arrow might have been evaded, but not the crossbow bolt.

Its velocity was greater, its close-range impact more devastating.

Thwack!

The sound was soft as the bronze tip buried itself in the boar’s eye, a third of the shaft following.

The boar’s agonized squeal echoed through the night, halting the program team in their tracks.

The shot, while accurate, didn’t deliver a killing blow. Instead, it sent the boar into a frenzy.

To Zhao’s surprise, the enraged animal didn’t flee but charged directly at him!

Its curved tusks could puncture a car like paper—flesh stood no chance.

Luckily, Zhao was positioned high on a steep slope, out of the boar’s reach.

He still had time.

Again, without a second’s pause, Zhao reloaded and took aim.

The crossbow’s true advantage lay in its ease of aiming, allowing even those untrained in archery to quickly grasp its use.

Zhao was well-acquainted with this crossbow; within sixty meters, his accuracy was nothing short of remarkable.

“The right eye!”

Whoosh!

Zhao Yuegu didn’t wait to see if his shot landed; he bolted, diving straight into the woods behind him!

The dense forest would significantly hinder the wild boar’s speed!

Plus, it was a safe distance from the program team members, preventing the enraged boar from causing them any harm.

Regrettably, the boar ducked, avoiding the vital spot. The arrow, though embedded in its hide, failed to penetrate deeply enough to pose a real threat.

Dirt erupted into the air, and countless rapeseed blossoms were trampled into the mud, a sight that pained Zhao Yuegu.

The boar’s hoofprints curved in an arc, following Zhao into the woods.

“The forest may slow it down, but with its keen sense of smell, there’s no shaking it off.”

“This tree will do—it’s sturdy enough.”

Without a moment’s hesitation, Zhao scaled the tree.

He had barely ascended a few meters when the boar charged, slamming its head into the trunk.

The old tree swayed violently, showering leaves down as Zhao clung to the trunk, his hands tingling from the impact, nearly dislodged by the force of the boar’s assault!

He could also hear the boar’s pitiful squeals from below.

“As long as I can hold my position up here, I’ve got a shot at taking it down from above with my bow and arrow!”

Zhao adjusted his stance and nocked another arrow.

But the boar below was relentless, battering the tree trunk with such fury that Zhao found no opportunity to aim.

He couldn’t help but smile wryly at the boar’s tenacity.

However, it wasn’t long before Zhao noticed the boar’s impacts against the tree becoming less frequent.

After roughly two minutes, the boar’s piercing cries ceased abruptly, its massive form collapsing to the ground in violent spasms.

Seizing the moment, Zhao fired several arrows downward, finally hitting the boar’s right eye. Only then was he certain—the wild boar was truly dead.

Descending cautiously, he discovered that in its frenzied charge, the boar had driven the arrow lodged in its eye deep into its skull.

It would’ve been a miracle if it had survived.

Maybe it was the depth of the arrow’s penetration, or perhaps the boar knew its end was inevitable, which is why it went berserk in its final moments.

Zhao Yuegu waited until the boar ceased its spasms, assured of its demise, before confidently descending from the tree.

Surveying the massive heap of boar on the ground, a wave of satisfaction washed over Zhao Yuegu.

“That’s what you get for destroying the crops I worked so hard to grow!

Take that!

Try causing trouble now!”

Zhao Yuegu jabbed at the boar with his spear, but the hide was too tough to penetrate.

At that moment, the voice of the system echoed in his mind.

“Congratulations, host, on completing your task. You have successfully slain the wild boar and earned an S rating.”
