Chapter 31: Video Call

Audrey invited Isabel to sit on the sofa while she went to the kitchen, preparing hot coffee for her, perhaps as an apology for keeping her waiting.

David chose not to stop at the sofa, he continued walking towards his room.

There was no way he could continue his conversation with Isabel when Audrey was in the apartment.

As he headed towards his room, he could feel Isabel's gaze occasionally resting on him.

Maybe she was still curious now.

That gaze only disappeared when Audrey arrived with two cups of hot coffee.

When sitting in front of Isabel, Audrey looked at David first who had now entered the door of his room.

David actually lay down immediately, but instead of going to sleep, he played with his cell phone.

It felt a little strange to be alone now even though he had always been alone.

Apparently, he received a video call, and it was of course from Jane.

His spirits were instantly lifted, and he immediately accepted the call.

In an instant, Jane's face appeared on his phone screen.

The young woman was sitting on a sofa, seemingly inside a house, but David could hear the rumble of machinery.

"What the hell, you've only been gone a short while, now you've contacted your boyfriend, can't you help but miss him?" The first thing David heard was Erza's voice.

The woman suddenly sat down beside Jane, looked at the camera and smiled at David.

Jane looked annoyed with her behavior. She nudged her with her elbow before standing up and walking towards the window.

It was only after she walked that David was able to confirm that she was indeed on the plane.

There were many passenger seats around her, but they were all empty.

"Are you okay in there?" Jane asked David how he was doing.

It had only been about an hour since they parted ways, but she was already asking how he was doing. David couldn't help but be pleased.

"Of course, I'm fine, what's the worst that can happen," David replied.

"By the way, are you still in the European skies?" he asked.

"It's even still in the French sky, it's only been about 15 minutes since we flew over," Jane replied.

She pointed her camera at the window, where David could then see the land full of lights below.

There were probably no clouds around the plane, so the view was quite clear.

As a man who had never been on an airplane, David quite enjoyed the view.

"I guess I'd better go along," he said.

"Do you want to come? If you do, we'll turn around," Jane replied after hearing David's words.

She didn't seem to mind taking him to the United States.

David almost coughed because he was just joking.

He quickly replied, "don't do that, I don't want to trouble you."

When he said that, Jane pointed the camera at her face again.

And David saw Erza approaching Jane from behind.

"Dear, you will have to be alone for tomorrow, we might not be able to come back in one day," the woman said.

Jane glanced at her, seemingly wondering what she was trying to say.

"If you feel lonely, I can send Mery to keep you company during our absence. I'm sure you've seen her, the Southeast Asian woman who was with me in the car. She is quite beautiful, she is currently in Paris. Would you like her contact?"

"Erza, do you want to fight with me?" asked Jane, turning back and looking annoyed.

"Why are you angry?" replied Erza. "Didn't you already allow him to have other women because that's how he should live as the owner of Zeus' power?"

"True, but I don't want him with a servant."

"What's wrong, Mery is very beautiful, and she's not a servant, she's my assistant. She is also not a woman without background, her father is a billionaire in Southeast Asia."
