My Wolf and I
Chapter 40 ✔

AIDEN

I calmly sat in the rocking chair in the baby’s room. I had a book in my lap, Galaxy was taking a nap, Jayvee was on patrol, Hami was quietly cleaning the kitchen and I was enjoying the silence. Or I was.

Pain shot up my spine causing me to gasp. Hami was in the room in a second. I sat up and put a hand on my back where the pain was. I felt a dull ache in my lower stomach that made me whine in discomfort.

I let out a deep sigh and looked at Hami. “Hami, I think the baby is coming. I need you to stay here with Galaxy while I go to the doctor.”

“No! I have to go with you! I know you told me to keep my thoughts to myself but there is no way that I could let you leave my sight in this place! Especially now!”

“I cannot and will not leave my two-year-old daughter alone here,” I stated angrily.

“You need to worry about your blood!” Hami angrily said as he floated above me. I was shocked. I didn’t know that that was how he felt about Galaxy.

I sighed. “You’re right Hami.” He lowered himself down to my level and tried to help me out of the chair, but I pulled my arm away from him. “I need to worry about my blood. Galaxy may not have come from me, but she is my blood. My daughter.” I struggled to get out of my chair but managed to do it without help from Hami. “I want you gone. You’ll be lucky if you even see this baby.”

I walked out of the nursery and headed to Galaxy’s room. On my way, I grabbed my phone from my back pocket and called Jayvee. He didn’t answer, which was to be expected since he was in wolf form. I opened Galaxy’s door and watched as she jumped while in her ball pin. She quickly got out and sat on her bed.

“Sorry.” She said in a quiet voice.

I smiled and held my hand out. “It’s alright baby. Come on we got to go.” She happily ran to my side and took my hand.

Just as we were about to walk out the front door, another contraction hit me. I yelled in pain as I clenched the door frame.

“Ma o-k?” Galaxy asked as she pulled on my shirt.

“Yea baby. Mamas alright. Your baby brother is just ready to come out now. Even if he is a month and a half early.” I muttered the last part and grabbed Galaxy’s hand once again and walked us out.

The trip down the stairs was easy enough, thankfully I didn’t have another contraction until I was at the bottom of the stairs.

Pack members saw me and were quickly at my side to help. “Please get Jayvee,” I asked one of them. They nodded fast and ran off. Three people stayed with me and helped me walk to the pack hospital. One of them had Galaxy in her arms to keep up.

When we walked into the hospital, they were already waiting with a wheelchair. I was so thankful I could have cried. They were about to wheel me down the hall when Jayvee burst through the doors.

“Aiden!” He shouted. I held my arms out to him with a whine. He immediately was at my side, holding my hand. “Don’t worry Sugar, I’m right here. Are you ready to meet our baby?”

“No. But I don’t think I have a choice-Ah!” I yelled at another contraction, that one was way more painful than the last three. Galaxy held her hands to her ears at the noise. “D-don’t worry baby. We’ll be back soon a-alright. We need to go get your brother, so you be good.” She nodded and waved as they wheeled me further into the building.

I had never felt more exposed in my entire life. I was naked aside from a thin sterile paper that covered my chest and legs. There was a curtain up that hid my body from view, which I was thankful for. I don’t think the doctor would’ve appreciated me throwing up into my open stomach.

Jayvee was next to me; he ran his fingers through my hair and whispered sweet words in my ear as the doctor rummaged around.

Everything seemed to freeze when a loud piercing scream echoed through the room. Tears welled up in my eyes at the sound of my baby’s voice.

“Alpha Haddox would you like to cut the cord?” the doctor asked. Jayvee quickly got up from his seat and did as the doctors told him.

I didn’t replace this out until later but apparently, the doctor had to cover my open cavity so Jayvee wouldn’t go ape shit on them.

Anyway, once the baby was ready, they placed him on my chest so I could say hello. I know that most people say that their baby is the most adorable thing right from birth but not my baby. He looked like an angry raisin, but he was cute in his own way.

The nurse took him away so the doctors could close me up. They began to wheel the baby out of the room causing my anxiety to shoot up. I grabbed Jayvee’s hand roughly. “Go with him and do not let him leave your sight,” I demanded. Jayvee could tell that I left no room for argument, so he quickly followed after the nurse.
