Mysterious Little Wife -
Chapter 37 Lacey, You Are Dead!
After opening the door, Lacey hurried back to her room and picked up her clothes and lingerie from the floor.
"Lacey, are you okay?" When Theo entered, the first thing he did was switch on the light.
"Wait! Don't switch on the light!" Lacey exclaimed abruptly.
"What's the matter?" Theo looked perplexed.
"Why can't we switch on the lights, Lacey?" Lillianna walked in with a frown. She, too, was puzzled.
Lacey replied hesitantly, "I'm not wearing any lingerie_"
Inexplicably, Theo's face went red. "I'll wait outside. Just take your time- " He stammered.
"There's no need for that. I'd had a little too much to drink earlier and was feeling a little dizzy. It'll be too binding to switch on the lights. Besides, the room isn't particularly gloomy." Lacey spoke as she walked up to the French window and drew the curtains back on the opposite side.
Outside, the blue moonlight shone in. Together with the light from the bathroom, the room became better lit.
"Lacey, this is a sobriety pill. Do you want some? Also, I've brought you some snacks. I don't think you've eaten much," Theo said as he placed the items in his hands on the table.
Lacey beamed as she looked at Theo. "Thank you, Theo!"
"It's no big deal. You're my girlfriend, aren't you?" Theo grinned. He stepped forward and took her in his arms.
Such a move caught Lacey and Lillianna off guard.
"Don't ever drink that much again, got it?" A doting voice sounded above her head.
Lacey bit her lips inside Sam's embrace and softly pushed him away. "Oh, sure thing!" She responded, tucking her hair behind her ear to hide her unease.
Lillianna, on the other hand, smiled coldly at the sight of this scene. "Mr. Henderson, you certainly do cherish my sister."
Theo smiled brightly as he glanced at her. "Yes, I do. Shouldn't you, as her elder sister, be happy about that?"
Lillianna took a pause. "Well, of course!" She then replied while forcing an awkward smile.
Lacey crossed her arms helplessly and moved to the side.
She was confused as to what Theo was thinking. He was well aware that their relationship was a lie. He didn't have to help her with her act.
Lillianna turned to Theo with a gentle smile. "I'm her sister, so of course, I want the best for her. Lacey, are you all right? If you're not feeling well, let me know, and I'll take you to the hospital." She sounded as it she was genuinely concerned.
"There is medical staff here. Do you want to go for a check-up?" Theo asked worriedly.
"I'm fine. Do I look like I'm feeling sick?" Lacey smiled faintly. Then, she stepped forward and pulled Lillianna over. "Lillianna, the moon is lovely tonight. Come and look at it." Lillianna was dragged by the french window.
"What's there to look at?" Lillianna asked in a blue tone as she looked out at the moon.
If it weren't for Theo, she wouldn't have come. She came because she was afraid Lacey might talk nonsense after drinking too much!
"Let's see. Today is the day of the supermoon. Hence, the moon is sure to be big tonight!" Theo stood next to Lillianna and gazed out at the view. "Let's go and have a look." Lillianna followed suit. Despite the hazy seascape, the sky was littered with brilliant stars.
"Lacey, come here." Theo, who had gone to the balcony with Lillianna, invited Lacey.
"It's all right. I'm going to stay here. There's a sea breeze blowing outside. I'm afraid I'll catch a cold." As Lacey spoke, she dragged a nearby chair over and sat down. The chair was placed next to the curtain, where Sam stood.
A faint smile was on her face as she tilted her head slightly and rested it on him.
Sam was irritated by the sudden weight pressing down on him. He reached out and tried to push her away.
"Ugh!" Lacey's head tilted to the side. He pushed her with a great deal of force.
"Lacey, what's the matter?" As Theo turned his head back, he noticed her head suddenly tilted to the side.
Lacey stroked her temples. Oh dear, Sam was not at all merciful to her!
"Nothing. I'm exercising." She replied with a grin. Lacey then moved closer to the curtain and gave Sam a disapproving pinch on the leg.
Sam, however, grabbed her hand just as she touched him.
"Theo, come over here-" She called out.
Sam immediately let go of his hand.
Lacey then took advantage of the situation by pinching him once more.
"What's wrong?" Theo asked as he hurried over.
Lacey smiled faintly and said, "It's windy outside. Don't catch a cold!"
"It's all right. I'm a man. I'm not that frail. I'll ask your sister if she needs extra clothes!" Theo returned to the balcony.
"Hiss!" Just when Theo left, Lacey gritted her teeth.
Sam shamelessly grabbed her hair and drew her in closer.
"Are you trying to play tricks on me?" A deep voice rang out from above her head.
Despite Sam's low voice, it sent chills up her spine.
Feeling uncomfortable, Lacey pulled back her hair. She immediately rose to her feet and kicked away the chair.
Then she slipped behind the curtain.
Sam hadn't expected her to fling herself at him like that.
He froze at that precise moment.
"The lover game begins now!" Lacey leaned over Sam and suddenly reached out to grab his sensitive part.
Her actions caught Sam off guard. A surge of anger gradually rose in him.
Even behind the curtains, he pinched her chin with pinpoint accuracy. "Lacey!"
Through clenched teeth, he whispered the name. It was as if he was going to tear her apart.
"Sam, are you interested in learning more about andrology hospital?" Lacey mocked him despite her jaw being on the edge of breaking. "What did you just say?" Sam's trembled in disbelief.
Lacey's eyes twinkled and her lips lifted into a dazzling smile. "You're soft down there. Could there be something wrong with it?"
A glint of gloom flashed across Sam's obsidian eyes at this point. "You're doomed, Lacey Carter!"
Lacey sensed that he was about to lose his cool.
As a result, she quickly got to her feet.
Meanwhile, Lillianna and Theo had just returned from outside.
"There's nothing to look at, Mr. Henderson. And since Lacey's seems all right, let's go back." Lillianna wasn't in the mood to stay here at all. Sam had just answered the phone and had things to do. She wondered if he had gone back to his room. In fact, she hoped that something would happen between them on this trip. There wasn't any time to waste!
"Lacey, are you feeling tired?" Theo frowned slightly, hesitated to leave, as he had just arrived.
"Lacey had been sick since she boarded the plane today. Moreover, she drank wine late at night. She should go to bed early. There will be an outing trip tomorrow. It would be bad if Lacey couldn't get up on time," Lillianna hastily responded instead.
"I see." Theo turned to Lacey. "Well then, I-"
"I'm not tired!" Suddenly, Lacey interrupted. "I'm not tired at all. I've started having the interest to chat. By the way, weren't we just playing truth or drink?"
The question made Lillianna's expression gloomy.
"That's right. You mustn't drink anymore. Those people were obviously looking for trouble." Theo felt uncomfortable as he recalled the scene.
"Lacey, you'd better go to bed early!" Lillianna hurried up to interrupt her.
"Lillianna, if you are sleepy, why don't you go back? I'd like to have a serious discussion with Theo." She made a point of emphasizing the word "serious"!
Lillianna stifled her temper. She smiled and hurriedly said, "I'm not sleepy yet. Lacey, dad says it's best not to be alone in a room with a guy until we're married. This will have a bad impact on us." Lacey chuckled. What a thoughtful sister she had.
Lillianna hadn't given up any chance to defame her up to this point!
"it's best not to be alone in a room with a guy until we're married."
Such a statement was jam-packed with information!
"Thank you, Lillianna, for worrying about me!" Lacey beamed.
"I'm your sister. If I don't care about you, who will? Am I right?" Lillianna went on to say.
Lacey was nothing more than a country bumpkin to her. She was a fool, and she had no right to fight her.
"Lillianna, you're so old-fashioned. Our society is no longer as old as it once was. Do you still have chastity concerns?" Theo couldn't help but respond with a quip. There was a trace of irony in his eyes.
Was she still unsure of what era this was?
What for living in the past?
"Mr. Henderson, what do you mean by that? Do you have no regard for your girlfriend's purity?" Lillianna asked in bewilderment.
"Why should I be?" Theo smiled indifferently. "Why does she have to remain a virgin when I am not? Besides, in this day and age, it's common to lose your virginity before you get married." Then, as if something occurred to him, he asked with a frown, "Could it be you haven't slept with Sam?"
"How is that possible? We've-" Lillianna's face grew glum at this point. "We've engaged!"
"You hit the jackpot. Do you realize it was Sam's first time?" Theo gave a sly grin. "As attractive and ruthless as Sam is, he never had any woman," He chuckled as he said. "Lacey, don't you think it's hilarious? He's an old fart!" Theo touched Lacey with his arm.
Lacey was stunned.
Sam-
Sam was a virgin?
When Lillianna heard the shocking revelation, she locked her fist and glared at Lacey.
Of a sudden, Lacey burst out laughing. She couldn't stop laughing as she collapsed onto the bed.
"You replace it funny too, don't you?" Theo was amused. He walked up to her and said, "It sure is interesting!"
"No, not at all—" Lacey couldn't stop laughing despite her denial.
Oblivious to the three, the curtain moved.
"Lacey, enough!" exclaimed Lillianna. She was fuming with rage. "Mr. Henderson, let's head back. We should let her rest. There can be no delay in sailing tomorrow morning!"
"All right!" Theo agreed this time. "Lacey, I'm heading back. I'll see you in the morning!" He said.
"Hey, hold on a second!" Lacey jumped out of bed and dashed to the closet. Inside she found a robe. She put it on and said, "Theo, I'm hungry. Will you accompany me to the restaurant for a bite to eat?"
After all, she'd just taunted Sam.
She was bound to suffer once the two were gone.
Her mind would be blown to bits if she was left alone with him!
"Sure, I'm still hungry. Let's go!" Theo was delighted with the invitation.
And so, the three left together.
"Thump."
Just as the door closed, Sam yanked the curtains with rage.
His pupils shrank, and a slash of wrath across his face. "Lacey Carter, If it's a death wish you want, it's a death wish I'll grant!"
