Chapter 101: Catching Pigs

All the pigs looked very thin, with not much meat on their bodies except for their bulging bellies. Yao Ran thought for a while and slowly approached them.

Just when the pigs noticed her, Yao Ran quickly brought them all into the grassland in her space. When the pigs appeared on the grassland, they froze for a moment before grazing in a hurry.

Yao Ran sent her consciousness into the space and observed the pigs for a while.

Seeing them eating grass with relish, she poured prepared mixed pig feed into a large pig trough and placed it a few meters away from the starving pigs. Afterward, she prepared a basin and filled it with lake water.

The pigs looked malnourished, and she hoped they would recover after drinking the lake water.

When the pigs smell the fragrance of pig feed, they stop eating grass and stagger to the pig trough. Seeing them eating and drinking happily, Yao Ran retracted her consciousness from her space.

Since there is a group of pigs here, there should be more pigs nearby.

Judging from the size of the pig pen, there should be at least three hundred pigs in this pig farm. However, Long Yu only found ten pigs in the pig pen, and now she found six more pigs. They also spotted a pig on their way here.

These pigs were starving and must have escaped from the pig pen in search of food. If she could replace the remaining pigs, she could have more pigs in her pig pen, and her future supply of pork would be guaranteed.

Yao Ran looked around and saw the messy pigs' footprints on the ground. Because of the rain, the new footprints had almost disappeared. If she hadn't looked carefully, she wouldn't have been able to see them.

Yao Ran followed the footprints and carefully searched for the traces of the remaining pigs.

A few minutes later, Yao Ran saw pig manure scattered on the ground, and the grass had been eaten bare. She followed the traces and continued her search. Soon, she found another group of pigs staggered forward.

From the direction they were heading, the pigs seemed to be climbing up the mountain. Since the grass below has been eaten bare, the pigs instinctively run to the top of the mountain in search of food.

Climbing a mountain in heavy rain is very dangerous.

The ground was slippery and difficult to climb. If she was not careful, she could fall and break her neck. Even wearing a raincoat, Yao Ran was still soaked by the rain.

Seeing that the pigs were still climbing up the mountain, Yao Ran entered the space and made a cup of ginger soup. After drinking the hot ginger soup, she felt warm and left the space.

As the ground became steeper, Yao Ran took out a hiking pole, supported her body, and walked forward.

She searched for another twenty minutes and finally saw the remaining pigs. More than a hundred pigs gathered together, gnawing at the remaining grass on the ground. There were a lot of them, and it was very messy.

Yao Ran observed the pigs for a while and found that they seemed to be more aggressive than the pigs in the pig pen.

Although pigs are lazy animals, they can go crazy if they are hungry and are just as dangerous as wild boars. Moreover, the pigs had been living in the wild for at least a week and appeared to have turned into wild boars.

It would be difficult and dangerous for her to catch those pigs directly without preparation. With her current abilities, it would be difficult to get close to the pigs without alarming them.

After pondering for a moment, Yao Ran took out a large pig trough from her space, filled it with pig feed, and mixed the feed with sleeping powder. After getting ready, Yao Ran put the pig trough back to the space.

Then, she slowly approached the pigs and placed the pig trough in a safe place. Before the pig noticed her, Yao Ran quickly ran away and hid behind a big tree.

The rainwater seeped into the pig feed, and soon, the scent of the pig feed filled the air. The pigs munching on the weeds suddenly became alert. They grunted anxiously and started looking for pig feed.

Yao Ran slowed her breathing and patiently waited for the pigs to replace the pig feed. She watched them search for a while before they found the pig trough and started fighting for the food.

While the pigs were fighting and eating food, Yao Ran saw some pigs staggering and moving unsteadily.

Thud!

Soon, the pigs fell to the ground one after another. Although the sleeping powder is very effective, it can only make those pigs sleep and doesn't kill them.

Yao Ran bought this sleeping powder from Grandpa Hua before, just in case something unexpected happened. Who knew that before she could use it on humans, she would feed the sleeping powder to the pigs first?

When the pigs had eaten all the pig feed, the remaining pigs spread out and started eating grass again. Yao Ran sneaked up on the unconscious pigs, put them into the grassland inside her space, and then filled the pig trough with pig feed mixed with sleeping powder again. Soon, the remaining pigs smelled the fragrance of pig feed in the air and came back to eat with relish. Ten minutes later, the last few pigs lay unconscious on the muddy ground.

Yao Ran walked out of the tree and quickly took the pigs and the pig trough into her space. Then, she returned to the pig farm.

When she returned to the pig pen, she saw only Shi Xuan and Jia Xiang. The two of them had just returned from processing a pig in the backyard. When Shi Xuan and Jia Xiang saw her, they asked at the same time.

"Yao Ran, are you alright? What were you doing out there for so long?"
