What the hell is my family doing here? All of them. Dad, Mom, and Jezz. Not Jed though. Which is odd. Why is everyone but my biggest supporter here? Mom got up from her spot at the large table and walked over to me.

"Mom, what are you doing here?" I asked, shocked.

Mom wrapped me in a tight hug. My eyes connected with Haru's behind her. He smirked at me.

Oh, so this was his plan. Is he trying to catch Kenzo and I lying? Or is this just to make me feel uncomfortable?

"We came to celebrate you of course," Mom said as she pulled away. "I can't believe you didn't tell your own mother that you're getting married." She complained.

My eyes flickered at Haru again. He has a smug smile on his arrogant face. One I'd love to wipe off.

"I'm sorry Mom. It was kind of sudden, and I just haven't had the chance yet," I said.

"Well," Mom said, brushing off my apology. "Where is the ring? Let's see it." She said as she lifted my hand.

My face heated as Mom looked at me confused.

"Where is your ring? Don't tell me that a rich CEO wasn't able to afford something for you." She said.

That instantly pi.ssed me off. I opened my mouth to say something snotty, but I didn't get a chance. Kenzo came to my side, and wrapped her arm around my waist. "It's being resized." He told my mother.

My savior.

Kenzo held his hand out to my mother.

"Kenzo Suzuki, pleasure to meet you ma'am." He introduced himself.

Mom looked Kenzo up and down. She placed her hand in his, and Kenzo brought the back of my mother's hand to his lips. He gave her a small kiss, making Mom blush. I'm going to throw up.

"Oh my, well, it's a pleasure to meet you as well, Kenzo. I'm Opal's mother, Jane." She said.

Just then, Dad stepped up next to Mom. He looked at Kenzo with a tight smile. And completely ignored me.

"And this is my husband, James." Mom introduced Dad.

Dad held his hand out to Kenzo. Kenzo shook my father's hand, with what I hoped was an extra tight grip.

"Nice to meet you Kenzo. So, CEO, eh? You sure you want to settle down so soon?" Dad asked.

I kept a smile on my face, even though my father's words hurt. They shouldn't hurt me though. This is nothing new for me. I remember when Jed had brought up marriage between Brad and I. Dad went on and on about how he shouldn't settle down yet, how he should enjoy his youth while he can. Like the man wasn't dating his daughter or anything.

It was never about me. Never about wanting what is best for his sweet daughter. No, not my dad.

Kenzo's jaw ticked at my father's words.

"I've never been so sure of anything in my life. I'm sorry that I didn't ask your permission. I'm sure that you don't want to let your little girl go," he said.

Dad waved Kenzo's assumption off.

"I don't mean that. Who even asks for permission these days? I just mean, you're a young man. You should live your life to the fullest," Dad said.

Kenzo's grip on my waist tightened. I looked up to see him glaring at my father. If looks could kill..

"I'm not sure what you are insinuating, but I would think as a father of two young women, you would be more concerned about her than me. You haven't even acknowledged her and she's right in front of you. You will not disrespect my fiance." Kenzo stated dangerously.

Both my parents, and my own, eyes went wide. Dad's face flushed as he stuttered over his words. Then he turned his angry eyes on me.

"Hello Opal. Congratulations." He forced out.

"Thanks." Came my clipped reply.

Kenzo scoffed.

I was about to suggest we sit down, when yet another person decided to talk to my fiance.

Jezz pushed her way between our parents and us. She looked straight at Kenzo. Then she put on her best flirtatious face, and placed her hand on Kenzo's chest. He looked at Jezz's hand on him, then at her with a raised brow. "Haven't we been through this already?" Kenzo asked, bored.

"Awhh, so you do remember me." Jezz said with a giggle.

"Ahh, you brought the desperate sibling I see." Beck said from behind me. "I don't see the protective one."

"He wasn't invited," Haru announced.

Beck chuckled.

"Funny how the only one on Opal's side just happens to not be here." He said as he walked around me to the table.

"You're here, aren't you boy?" Haru grumbled.

Beck smiled brightly as he took a seat at the table.

"Well, someone positive had to be here, Mr. Suzuki," he replied.

"Perhaps we should all have a seat now," Haru suggested to everyone.

Kenzo pushed me towards the table. He pulled out a chair at the end for me. I thanked him before sitting down. I thought Kenzo would sit next to me, but before he could even move, Jezz snatched the seat. I frowned at her, but she's only looking at my fiance. "Here's a spot for you Kenzo," Jezz said as she patted the seat next to her.

I stared at her incredulously. Is she really hitting on my fiance right in front of me, at our engagement party? This is so embarrassing.

Kenzo completely ignored Jezz. He sat down at the head of the table. At least, I think it's the head. Haru was sitting at what I thought was the head, but there are two ends to the table.

Haru narrowed his eyes at Kenzo as he sat down. Kenzo didn't pay him any attention. However, you can feel the tension in the air.

Suddenly, my chair was jerked closer to Kenzo. I let out an embarrassing yelp in shock. I narrowed my eyes at Kenzo, but he only placed his hand on my knee under the table.

At least, no matter what happens tonight, I'll have Kenzo. My knight in shining armor. My Dom. My fiance. I love him so much.

A group of people walked through another set of double doors. All carrying trays, and some wheeling in a cart with drinks on it. Silver trays were set down in front of us, and the staff lifted the tops off. I turned to the man who set mine in front of me. "Thank you." I said with a bright smile.

The man looked shocked for a moment before giving me a nod with a small smile.

When I looked back at Kenzo, he had a huge grin on his face. I've noticed that he's been smiling more lately. I really love it. I just want to make Kenzo as happy as he makes me. I want to help give him the life he's always deserved.

Haru cleared his throat, interrupting our moment.

"So, James, I hear you are a judge," he said.

"That's right. I oversee many cases, mostly high end ones though." Dad replied.

I looked down at my plate. I took a bite of my food when I felt eyes on me. My eyes snapped up to the person sitting across the table from me.

Beck smiled slyly. I gave him a confused look. Then I felt it. The buzzing inside of me. My body jolted, but thankfully no one noticed.

The balls inside of me started buzzing harder. I squeezed the table as I tried to act normal. It feels so good. I can't let anyone replace out.

Kenzo's hand started to snake up the inside of my leg. I squeezed my legs shut, but he forced them back open. I turned my head to pout at Kenzo. He can't do this to me. If he touches me along with this vibration, there is no way I'll be able to hide it. Kenzo took a long drink of his wine. I can see the mischief twinkling in his eyes. Then the buzzing increased. I gasped loudly, causing everyone to look at me.

"You okay baby?" Kenzo asked me, full of concern.

I glared at him.

"You look a little flushed, Opal, you feeling alright?" Beck asked, mimicking Kenzo's fake concern.

The vibration didn't change at all. I took a deep breath before turning to everyone else in the room. Mom is glaring at me like I'm making a scene on purpose. Haru and Dad are just eating their dinner, no care in the world. Jezz rolled her eyes before sulking. Okay cool. At least none of them care if I make a fool out of myself.

Honestly, it's very sad. My family doesn't care about me at all. My mother carried me for nine months, and birthed me. I'm my father's flesh and blood. Jezz is my only sister. None of them care about me at all.

I turned back to Beck and Kenzo.

"I'm fine, thank you for asking." I told them.

"Good," Beck said.

And then the vibration increased again.

Holy sh.it. Does he have this on the highest setting?

My eyes started to flutter as heat spread through my body. An orgasm is building up already. There's going to be a freaking wet spot on my seat when I stand up.

"So, I heard you have a son named Jed as well. Jane, James, Jezzlyn, and Jed. How cute. Where on earth did you come up with Opal?" Haru asked.

Haru's question put me in a sour mood. Just like I'm sure he planned. It's never been a secret that I've been the oddball out. Apparently, since birth. Haru isn't the first to ask this either.

Suddenly, the vibration stopped. I looked up to see Kenzo glaring daggers at Haru. Beck also looks pi.ssed off, which I've never seen on him before.

"Oh," Mom said with a laugh. "That's a bit complicated. My sister named Opal," she said.

I whipped my head at her.

"You have a sister?" I asked, shocked.

Jezz scoffed. Dad cleared his throat, and pulled at his tie. Mom refused to meet my eyes.

"I used to. She died many years ago." She told me.

"W-why didn't you ever tell us? You've never told me that she named me." I said.

"Yeah, usually when people ask why you didn't do the J thing with Opal, you just tell them it's because she was the child you never wanted." Jezz snickered.

It's true. Mom never said it in front of me, but I heard her sometimes. She never had a problem telling everyone else that I was a 'special case'. I never understood what she meant, but I assumed she was telling everyone I was mentally challenged. Kenzo's grip on my knee tightened. I snapped my head at him. I was just about to tell him that that hurts, when Mom said something I have never heard before.

"Yes, well, adoption is hard." She said.

My eyes went wide. Everything stopped. Breathing suddenly became very hard.

"Oh, so Opal is adopted?" Haru asked.

I'm... adopted?

"You never told me you were adopted kitten." Kenzo said lowly to me.

I looked up at him as tears filled my eyes. I opened my mouth, but no words came out. Realization settled in Kenzo's features.

"You didn't know," he said softly.

It wasn't a question, but I shook my head anyway. A few tears fell from my eyes. I feel like the floor has been swiped from under me.

Why would Mom drop such a bomb on me now? At my engagement party? In front of all of these people?

"I never told her. I figured I would when she grew up, but then she moved far away the first chance she got." Mom said. "Nows as good a time as any though. Opal, you were my sister's daughter. She died of cancer when you were only two. Her dying wish was that I take you in." She told me.

Mom said it all like it was no big deal at all. This explains so much. Why Jezz always hated me. Why Dad never cared about anything to do with me. Why Mom was always... the way she was. I was just an inconvenience to her. To all of them. Does Jed know this? "What about Opal's father? Surly he would have been a better fit than you." Kenzo spat.

"Excuse me? You have no idea how hard my wife-"

"Where. Is. Her. Father?" Kenzo interrupted to ask, making sure to enunciate each word.

"No idea." Mom said. "My sister never told me who he was. He wasn't around."

"So we got stuck with her," Jezz said.

Kenzo's jaw ticked. He was just about to say something else, but I just.. can't. I pushed out my chair, and stood up. Everyone looked at me.

"I.. I'm leaving. Haru, it was a displeasure to see you again as always. Mo- Jane, James, I hope I never have to see you again." I said with a forced laugh. "Jezz, stop hitting on my fiance. Have some respect for yourself."

There were many scoffs in the room, but I didn't care. I walked to the door feeling as numb as ever. I was just about to the front door when strong arms wrapped around me from behind. I turned my head to see Beck holding me.

"Zo told me to have you wait just a moment, then you can go home darlin"." He said.

Home. Do I even know what a home is?
