Naughty Ceo’s Secret -
Chapter 18
The next time that Kenzo has be do a meeting like this.. I'm calling Peter to see what I'm getting myself into. This is not what I expected at all.
When Kenzo said he needed me here, I honestly thought it was just to have me serve everyone attending today. I mean, that is exactly what I'm doing, but. Kenzo could have told me what the real reason is.
Apparently, the company that Kenzo is trying to make a deal with. is a makeup company. Run by eight women, and three men, two of which are gay. I only know that because one of them is Peter's boyfriend. They were talking to the other about a local gay bar they all go to.
The atmosphere is much more friendly than I thought it was going to be. In my head I imagined a room full of older grumpy men. I thought that I was here to be the only female, and I didn't like that. This is.. way different.
Beck has his normal charm on. Although, less than half of the women here are falling for it. At least most of them are smart. Kenzo is chatting up with the two CEO's of the company. I have no idea what they are saying, but I don't think it's business talk.
I made conversation with all of them as I walked around the room refilling coffee's. Through the whole lunch I have made sure to check up on everyone. I got anything anyone needed. I made sure to pay extra attention to the women who I think are higher up in the company.
Apparently, I did so well that one of the co-CEO's ordered me to sit with her, and eat. I appreciated that. Her name is Sasha. She has beautiful chocolate skin, and warm brown eyes. Sasha is probably one of the prettiest women I have ever seen. Especially with her short, curly hair.
"Do you not wear makeup? It doesn't look like you have any on." Sasha asked me.
"Oh, uh, I'm not much of a makeup wearer. My friend Kendra loves your products though. She's always buying the newest things. If you ever catch me wearing makeup, it's because she did me up with your finest products." I told her with a bright smile. I'm trying my hardest to be smooth. To boast about Sasha's company. I want to make a good impression on Kenzo's behalf. I might only be a secretary for Suzuki Industries, but we all represent the company. As I've said before, I want the company to succeed. "Kendra.." Sasha trailed off. "You couldn't possibly mean Kendra Westen, could you?" She asked. My eyes went wide.
"You know her?" I asked surprised.
Sasha laughed.
"Nikki, did you hear that?" Sasha asked her co-CEO. "Opal knows Kendra Westen." She said
Nikki's eyes went wide, and then a huge smile split across her face.
"No way! That's awesome. How long have you known her?" Nikki asked me.
"Uh, a few years. She's one of my best friends." I told them.
"How do you guys know her?" I asked.
"Well, her father owns a quite a few spa's. We do business with him, but we became very good friends." Sasha told me. "Although, we haven't seen her in ages." She groaned
"It has been way too long. We're far too busy." Nikki added.
"Well, maybe today we can all go out for a drink after this. I can text her right now. If you guys are free." I offered
Sasha and Nikki shared a look before squealing.
"Oh my god, yes!" Nikki practically shouted.
I sent Kendra a quick text before returning my attention to the two women. Good thing I didn't get my phone confiscated. I can see Kenzo watching us out of the corner of my eye. Good. I hope he sees just how well I'm doing. Then I can tell him to shove his treat up his ass.
"So, Kendra still dating that one guy?" Sasha asked. "What was his name again?" She asked Nikki.
"Oh.. sit what was his name? He was real tall. Dark brown hair, and brown eyes.. sh*t what was his name?" Nikki muttered
"Oh, Marc." I said
"Yes!" Nikki exclaimed
I can practically feel the glare Kenzo is giving me.
"Are they still together?" Sasha asked
"No, they broke up like two weeks after they started dating.
Neither of them are the relationship type." I said.
"Oh, you know him well?" Sasha asked
My eyes flickered to Kenzo. Yup, definitely glaring at me. I hope he feels stupid after what I'm about to say.
"Yes. Marc and I have been best friends since diapers. We grew up together, and moved to the city around the same time." I told them.
"Oh good, so you aren't with him then?" Nikki asked.
"Nikki." Sasha scolded.
"What? I'm just curious." Nikki said.
I giggled at the two of them.
"No, Marc and I have never had a relationship like that." Then my eyes flickered to Kenzo again. "We have always been only friends. Nothing more." I said. "Good, maybe I can give him a shot." Nikki said making Sasha and I laugh.
"Ahem."
All eyes snapped up to Beck standing at the head of the table.
"Perhaps we should begin with business now." He suggested lightly.
I moved to stand up, but Sasha held my arm down.
"Stay. We want to know your opinions." She said.
"Oh, uh, but I'm just a secretary." I said.
"Yes, but for the CEO of one of the companies here. You are also a woman, and we already trust your opinions." Sasha said kindly.
I looked to Kenzo. He is expressionless. His black eyes seem less intense than normal. I have no idea if he wants me to stay, or go.
"If you're worried that Mr. Suzuki will fire you for sharing what's on your mind." Nikki trailed off. "Don't be. If he does fire you, you can come work for us." She offered.
I blushed at that. That was quite the offer for someone like me. Someone who wasn't even qualified to work here in the first place.
"O-okay." I stuttered.
I tried to pay as close attention as I could throughout the meeting. There is a lot that I don't understand though. I wish that I had brought something to take notes with.
Beck took the lead on the meeting. Sasha and Nikki were quick to ask questions whenever they saw necessary. They are such strong women. It's admirable.
"Well, I think that it will take us a few days to discuss if we would like to proceed." Sasha said
"That is completely understandable. Please take your time."
Kenzo told her.
Everyone stood up, and shook hands. Most of everyone made their way out on their own. I'm helping Peter to clean up everything as Sasha and Nikki talk with Kenzo and Beck.
"Just so you're aware.. We are leaning towards a hard yes." Sasha told the men. "Only because we like her so much." She said pointing to me.
I froze as my cheeks heated.
"The deal seems good. We might make a few adjustments, but.. we had many other offers from companies similiar to yours." Nikki told them. "Opal is the only reason we are choosing you. Treat her well. Give her a raise. And let her go for the rest of the day for god's sake." Sasha said. My blush grew. I really had that big of an impression on them? They.. like me that much?
A small smile spread across my face as I watched them all.
Kenzo's black eyes connected with mine for just a moment.
He can keep his treat. The women's compliments are treat enough for me. I'm glad I came in today.
"Why don't you two wait in the lobby while Opal gathers her things. I need to have a word with her before she leaves." Kenzo told the women.
I followed Kenzo and Beck back to our offices. I went to grab my things, but Kenzo grabbed my hand, and dragged me into his office. He slammed the door shut, and then pinned me to it. Beck is standing to the side of us with a huge grin on his face. Hooked up into Kenzo's intense black eyes. Is he mad? But thought that I did good..
"Why the f**k didn't you tell me that Marc is just your friend?" He asked angrily.
My eyes went wide.
"That's what your focusing on Kenzo?" Beck asked him.
"Opal here just landed us the deal of the century!" He boasted.
Kenzo doesn't look like he cares though.
"Well?" He asked me.
"H- tried to." I said as my own anger grew.
I pushed on Kenzo's chest until he took a step back. I frowned at him. He frowned right back at me. Beck is probably enjoying the show.
"You wouldn't let me talk. I tried to tell you before that meeting. But no, you just wanted to demand things from me without knowing the whole story." I said exasperated.
"You're just like everyone else here! Everyone but Beck." I shouted as I pointed to the man.
Kenzos eyes didn't leave mine though.
"All of you just assume the worst from me for some reason.
You never think to ask. You only make assumptions all on your own!" I huffed.
I took a deep breath, and smoothed my hands over my black pencil skirt.
"I hope you learned your lesson Kenzo. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have plans." I stated.
With those last words, I made my way down to the lobby.
