Naughty Ceo’s Secret -
Chapter 90
This week has been flying by. Kenzo and I have had lunch together every day except for Tuesday and Thursday. Everyone around the office is talking now. I try to ignore them all as much as I can. I knew that they were going to talk, and surpringly, it didn't bother me as much as I thought it would. Today is Friday though, and I am thankful for the weekend break. I've noticed that more of the secretaries that normally talk about me have been coming around more. I think they are trying to see if the rumors about Kenzo and I are real. I've been ignoring them as best as I can.
excited.
Whatever. Today is going to be a good day. Our work day is almost over. Kenzo wants me to go somewhere with him. Then he has one more meeting. After that, we get to go out for drinks with friends. We are all meeting at the bar around the corner from here. I'm so "So, where are we going?" I asked Kenzo once I hopped into the car.
I looked at Ben in the rearview mirror, and smiled at him. Ben returned my smile before he started to drive away. Kenzo grabbed my hands in his, and took them into his lap. I turned to face him. "You'll see kitten." Kenzo replied.
I blew out a breath and leaned back on the seat. No point in pressuring Kenzo for an answer. He won't give in to me, and I know it. I might as well enjoy the surprise.
"Baby, what gym do you go to?" Kenzo asked.
I love that he's been calling me more cute pet names lately.
"The small one near my apartment. Why?" I asked.
"Cancel your membership. You can use my gym." He told me.
I raised a brow at him.
"I'm not sure I can afford your gym. Especially when I don't go often," I said.
"It's free for you kitten," Kenzo said.
I furrowed my brow.
"Free? I thought gyms only did that if the owner of the membership brought the other person," I said.
"I have a private gym." Kenzo told me.
My jaw dropped.
I don't even know why I'm surprised. Of course, Kenzo has his own gym. A personal one where no one can bother him. It was silly of me to think that Kenzo would be slightly normal. "And where is this gym at?" I asked.
Kenzo smirked.
"The basement of my apartment building." He told me.
"And it's all yours?" I asked.
Kenzo shrugged.
"I built it. Plus, I own the building," he said.
"Of course you do." I muttered. "Well, I'm not sure that that'll work. The only time I have to work out is usually pretty late at night," I said. Kenzo's smirk deepened.
"Sounds like you'll just have to stay the night on those nights. You already have everything you could possibly need. Remember?" He teased.
I blinked up at him.
Was this Kenzo's plan when he got all of that stuff in his apartment for me? Why is he trying to push me to stay with him more? Was.. Did he have this planned for a while?
Kenzo did tell me that all of that pushing me away was for my own good. That he wanted me out of Haru's sights. So.. does that mean that Kenzo really wanted to spend more time with me this whole time? Is that why he made sure I would always have anything I could ever need at his place?
A small smile spread across my face.
"What?" Kenzo asked.
"Nothing." I said, shaking my head.
"Okay." Kenzo said as he tapped on his phone.
A second later, my own phone dinged. I pulled it out of my purse to see I had an email. An email confirmation that my gym membership has been canceled.
My eyes snapped up to Kenzo. He still has his eyes on his own phone.
"How the hell were you able to cancel my membership?" I asked him.
"It was easy." Was all Kenzo said.
I scrunched my face up at him.
"Is this one of those Dom things?" I asked.
"Yes." Kenzo stated.
"What else are you doing to do?" I asked.
Kenzo looked at me with amused eyes.
"Whatever I want," he said.
I narrowed my eyes at him.
"Don't worry kitten. I only have your best interest at heart," he added.
"That doesn't make everything okay." I muttered.
Kenzo grabbed my hand, and brought it to his lips. He kissed my knuckles, and smiled at me. I couldn't help but return his smile.
"We can always compromise on anything. All you have to do is tell me. I know that I can be a bit controlling, but I just want you to be happy and safe. This is all new for me as well, kitten. We just have to figure things out," he said. My smile grew.
"Together," I said.
"Yes together." He replied.
Suddenly, Kenzo's eyes darkened. He gave me that same intense look that he's always giving me. My breath hitched.
I know what that look means. Excitement started to rush through me. Kenzo reached up to push the button for the divider. Just before he was about to push it, Ben spoke.
"Mr. Suzuki, we are here." He announced.
I pouted, making Kenzo chuckle.
Kenzo leaned in to press his lips to mine in a quick kiss. He turned to open the door. Then he hopped out, and held his hand out to me. I gladly took it, and let Kenzo pull me from the car.
"Where are we?" I asked. "This looks like the part of town that Kendra always shops in." I teased.
Teased until I looked around to see, it was that part of the city. Expensive shops, and boutiques all around us. We, however, are standing in front of a very fancy-looking jewelry shop. It's a matte black with gold accents around it. And that's just the outside. Before I could react further, Kenzo pulled me into the jewelry store. I stumbled in behind him. The inside looks even fancier than the outside. The floors are marble, and look perfect. There are several displays of all kinds of jewlery out. I caught sight of the price tags, and nearly fell over.
"Kenzo, what are we doing here?" I asked in a whisper.
"Getting you an engagement ring obviously. What else?" He replied.
My jaw dropped as I looked up at him. Kenzo didn't notice. He just pulled me to the display with the wedding rings, and began looking them over.
"K-Kenzo.. This is too much. These rings are ridiculously expensive. Our engagement isn't even real," I said in an angry whisper.
Kenzo shook his head as he gave the rings a disgusted look.
"Our engagement might be fake right now, but if I have my way, it won't be long." He mumbled.
"Huh?" I asked confused.
What is that supposed to mean? That.. that he wants this engagement to be real? And soon? How soon?
Kenzo turned his head to me and smiled.
"Regardless of what is fake and real, you are still mine. You should only have the best. Always," he stated.
I blinked at him with my mouth hanging open.
"Kenzo.. this is too much. People really are going to think I'm a gold digger," I said.
"First of all, I don't care what anyone thinks, and you shouldn't either. I know you aren't after my money. You won't even use my credit card to buy yourself a cup of coffee." He grumbled.
Then Kenzo turned back to the counter.
"Besides, you won't be getting any of these," he said.
"I won't?" I asked.
Then why are we here?
Before Kenzo could respond, a woman came over to us. She is a bit older than us, with bleached hair and brown eyes. Her name tag reads: Debbie.
"Hi there, can I help you with anything?" She asked us.
"Yes, I have a pick-up for Suzuki," Kenzo said.
A pick up?
"Oh right. Let me go grab that for you Mr. Suzuki." She said.
While the woman walked to the back of the store, Kenzo walked to another display. This one has necklaces and bracelets. All of which are insanely expensive. These prices are crazy. How do people afford this kind of stuff?
I guess people who shop here are all as rich as Kenzo.
"Alright Mr. Suzuki, here you are." The woman walked up to Kenzo, and handed him a small paper bag.
"How much do I owe you?" Kenzo asked.
Debbie waved him off.
"We don't charge for long time customers." She said.
Long time? How long has Kenzo been coming here? And for what?
I guess they sell watches too..
"Alright. I also want this bracelet, and this necklace." Kenzo said, pointing to the items.
The bracelet is silver with little diamonds throughout it. It's absolutely stunning, honestly. The necklace is a silver chain, with a beautiful small opal at the end of it. It's so pretty. Both are truly beautiful. Wait.
"Why do you need those?" I asked Kenzo.
"They're for you and you know it, kitten," Kenzo said as he pulled me to the counter to pay.
"No, Kenzo, I can't let you-"
"Let me? I'm your Dom kitten. You don't let me do anything." He told me.
I sighed.
"I know, but-"
Kenzo turned to me, and squeezed my hand.
"I'm getting them for you no matter what you say. Think of them as an apology gift for me pushing you away all week. Because you had to see that stupid article. For having to deal with Haru because of me," he said. I stared up into Kenzo's eyes.
"Kenzo-"
"Alright, that will be $35,048.23 Mr. Suzuki." Debbie said.
My eyes nearly bulged out of my head. Kenzo pulled his wallet out, and handed Debbie his card. I'm still trying to process the fact that he just spent over $35,000 on me.
Growing up the way I did, I never paid much attention to how much things cost. Not until I decided to move out and take control of my own life. That was how I learned the value of a dollar. It makes me wonder how much money my dad has blown on my mom for things like that. I bet he's blown over a million dollars between my mom and Jezz in just jewelry.
After Kenzo paid, he grabbed my hand, and pulled me back to the car. He usherd me inside. The moment Kenzo got in he put up the divider.
Kenzo pulled out the bracelet he had bought me, and put it around my right wrist. Then he pulled out the necklace, and asked me to move my hair. I did so, but..
I placed my hand on top of Kenzo's when he pulled out the small box containing my fake engagement ring.
"Kenzo-" I started, but was quickly interrupted.
"Opal, I am not arguing with you again," Kenzo stated.
"I know. Just listen." I said.
I looked up into Kenzo's deep black orbs.
"Kenzo, I appreciate how much you're trying to make up for the way you treated me. Now that I know the truth, I get why you did it. Sort of. But.. I just need you to know that buying me expensive things doesn't make up for anything. Talking to me does. We did that already. I'll still accept these gifts if you want me to, but.. I want you to know that this isn't what I value from you. You don't have to buy me things. I don't want to be showered with gifts. I just want you. I don't want your money, I just want your time and attention. Okay?" I said.
Kenzo gave me a bright smile. He leaned forward to press his lips to mine. Just when I started to kiss him back, he pulled away from me.
"Alright, then I want you to know something before I give you this ring." He told me.
"Okay.." I said skeptically.
"This ring is a symbol of our love. Things between us have been different from the start, but I've known... Ever since I first laid eyes on you when you snuck into that party, I've known that you were the one. I don't care how fast it is. I don't care how many years you want to wait, but.." He trailed off.
Kenzo cupped the side of my face, and looked deep into my eyes.
"The moment you put this ring on, our engagement becomes real Opal."
