Chapter 68
While driving, Jay observed William's expression through the rearview mirror.
"Mr. Wilson, Ms. Felix isn't actually cold-hearted. She's just been hurt and suffered too much over the years. Now, she's numb to emotions. You really can't rush things with her," he offered some words of comfort.
"Was what I did really that bad?" William asked.
Jay was momentarily taken aback by the question.
"Mr. Wilson, as an outsider, it does seem like you've been quite harsh."
Jay
had worked for William for a long time. He knew William wouldn't get angry at his words.
"Ms. Felix did nothing wrong in the four years of your marriage with her. She's always acted with your best interests in mind, but you never really appreciated her,
"Wilson Group indeed owed a lot to Felix Group for assisting our growth. They didn't have to help us, but they did so selflessly because of Ms. Felix.
"Even the late Mr. Felix said many times that he didn't expect you to love his daughter, but he hoped you wouldn't treat her poorly. Sadly, you didn't meet his expectations.
"Ms. Felix never did anything wrong. She always considered you first, yet you thought she was insulting you.
Jay took a deep breath. "Honestly, Mr. Wilson, you're a bit arrogant."
William remained silent and listened quietly.
It seemed like Jay's words struck a chord with him.
Linda had been suffering throughout their marriage, which was what led to the current situation.
"So, what do you think I should do?"
"Mr. Wilson, I can't really comment on that. After all, I don't fully understand Ms. Felix."
William muttered, "I'll deal with her father's affairs first. Maybe then I'll have a chance."
Jay sighed quietly. If only William had realized this sooner, things might not have come to this point.
But there was no right or wrong in relationships. It was all about exploration.
William shouldn't have approached Linda with such a mindset from the start.
Linda, Chloe, and Samson went to a restaurant owned by Lynch Group.
Lynch Group's primary industries were real estate and foreign trade. Their core power base was in Novena, but Samson had recently invested heavily in Osmo after taking over the company three years ago. They were now involved in various sectors.
Linda had previously joked about how Samson seemed determined to expand Lynch Group.
Samson didn't deny it. After all, to be a successful businessman, one had to strive to grow and strengthen their enterprise.
In fact, neither Linda nor Samson could be considered true businesspeople. They couldn't disregard human lives for profit.
"By the way, when are you planning to bring Lexi back?" Chloe suddenly brought up.
Linda and Samson were taken aback.
"Didn't you say you didn't like Lexi?" Linda asked.
Back in Usna, Lexi would often cry and disrupt Chloe's painting sessions, making it difficult for her to work. She had never really enjoyed spending time with Lexi.
"As long as someone can accompany me, I'm happy," Chloe explained. She didn't dislike Lexi. She was younger back then and had less patience.
Linda pondered briefly before responding, "Once we've settled down here environment for Lexi, then Samson and I will consider bringing her back." Chloe nodded in understanding. and can provide a stable
