Never Late, Never Away Chapter 2645

Time To Let Go

"Quite fine," Larry responded with a cool smile.

Upon seeing his smile, Joan heaved a sigh of relief.

She was deeply concerned that Jake would make a move on Norton Corporation. Larry had poured his blood and sweat into Norton Corporation. Thus she could not bear to see anything happen to it.

The next morning, Joan was wakened up by the warm sunlight that slipped through the curtain in her room. The sun seemed to rise earlier than any other day.

"Uh..." She extended her arms into a stretch and let out a big yawn before gradually opening her eyes.

The moment she stepped into the living room, she felt slightly peculiar as no one was there.

"Ms. Young?" She gently called out but was responded with dead silence.

Where has Ms. Young gone to? Joan stared at the clock on the wall with a confused look.

She can't be in the garden at this time, can she? She immediately walked out and scanned through the garden but failed to detect any figure.

Walking back to the bedroom, she nervously snatched up her phone and called Delilah.

Delilah picked up within seconds.

"Ms. Young, where are you?" Joan was slightly relieved that the call went through.

"I'm outside. Why?" Delilah replied softly.

"Who is it?"

A stranger's voice came from that end of the phone.

In an instant, Joan came to a realization.

"It's nothing. You guys have fun." Upon saying, she hung up at once.

So she's going on a date! It seems like she not going to be single for long!

A satisfied smile tugged at Joan's lips, and her eyes beamed with excitement.

"Joan."

While she was tidying in the living room getting ready to go to work, a familiar voice appeared suddenly. What is he doing here? Joan opened the door and stared at the person in front of her in total disbelief.

"How are you lately?" Dustin asked with a low voice.

"I'm great," Joan replied calmly. "What brings you here?"

"Nothing. I just felt like seeing you," he replied.

He had been trying hard to forget about Joan, but all efforts seemed to be without avail. No matter how long it had passed, his feelings towards her were unwilling to fade. "If there is nothing important, you can leave." Joan continued to pack her stuff.

Joan was careful not to have too much entanglement with this man. Regardless of the present or the future, she was convinced there would be no possibility between her and Dustin. Not to mention, Dustin was a friend of Abelyn.

Indeed, Joan knew about all the scheming conducted by Abelyn earlier, and she was aware that Dustin had taken no action to stop Abelyn's deed.

"Joan, I wanted to apologize about Abelyn. She did all that for me, even though her approach might be a little extreme. I hope you won't mind..." Dustin explained while getting closer to her. "It's all in the past, so stop bringing it up. You should leave." She tried to end the conversation.

I could not be franker about this. Would you please stop being such a slow-witted man?

"Joan, I know that you hate me. But I wish you could believe me that I have never intended to harm you!" Dustin raised his tone out of a sudden.

Joan was certain that Dustin would not harm her, but she could not forgive that he allowed others to do so.

"How many times do you want me to repeat? I don't want to see you anymore! Leave now!" Joan began to lose her calmness.

Dustin felt a knife stab through his heart, looking at the woman he loved screaming at him.

I have loved her for so many years. Forget it! I guess it's really time to let go.

Dustin had no choice but to head out of the house.

Joan realized she had overreacted, but she could not suppress the rage and hatred within her heart.

She could endure all kinds of betrayal, but she could never tolerate the betrayer trying to befriend her again.
