Never Late, Never Away Chapter 2682

Something Is Fishy

Thump!

Larry lost it and pounded the wall behind him.

D*mn it! Who's behind all this!

"Larry." Caspian walked into the office with distress written all over his face.

"What's wrong?" Larry went back to signing documents.

"You okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine."

"Well, erm-" Caspian was hesitant.

"Spill it!"

"Few of our partners terminated their contracts with us." Caspian's head drooped as he reported.

Those words got Larry's attention. He couldn't hide his nerves any further.

What the hell is happening? First, Della, and now this.

"And what was their reason?"

Larry stopped what he was doing and sat very still, waiting for a reply.

"It's erm-"

"Just say it!"

"Erm, they said that since you're already with Della, you won't be needing their support anymore. They also said that they're planning to retire soon." Caspian shuddered.

This is outright bullsh*t! Larry tilted his head towards one side and fell into deep thoughts.

Something's fishy.

It started with some partners calling to end their dealings with Norton Corporation, and then I was drugged and caught on camera. Now, more partners are terminating their contracts with us. It's like someone is orchestrating a show.

Who's the mastermind behind this? Larry frowned in confusion and anger.

"Larry, have you been messing with the wrong people lately?"

Not that I know of. I was buzzing like a bee: working overtime, burning the midnight oil, entertaining partners, etc. I didn't even have time for myself, let alone messing with the wrong crowd. "Joan would throw a fuss if she knew," Caspian murmured to himself.

It was only natural for a woman to be jealous when her man was rumored to be with another woman, but still, Larry needs to come up with a good explanation.

"If you want, I could-" Caspian's eyes gleamed at his thought.

"That won't be necessary." Larry waved his hand as a sign of dismissal as he firmly responded.

Well, what's done is done. I have to solve this issue myself.

"Larry, is there anything I could do?"

Caspian was earnestly hoping that he could contribute.

"Get in touch with Mr. Lancaster-" Larry rubbed his finger on his forehead, "—and give him a rough picture of the company's current situation." He gave Caspian a pat on his shoulder, feeling dejected. Larry saved Mr. Lancaster's life once, and from there, Mr. Lancaster promised to be on his side no matter what the odds were.

Caspian's gloomy vibe turned bright and hopeful after Larry finally came up with a plan.

"When?" He looked up at Larry.

"Now."

Caspian was on it immediately. He left the office and started handing over his other duties to his colleagues.

Mr. Lancaster knew clearly the dynamics between Larry and Caspian. Thus, having Caspian representing Larry overseas would no doubt win his support.

Meanwhile, Della was just hanging around in her living room. She had become more relaxed since she agreed to be part of Jake's scheme. It might be because she worried less about relationships now. "Hi, Ms. Duff. How have you been?" Jake heartily greeted Della.

"Pretty good."

What's Jake doing here? Della had her reservations.

"So, I believe you're here to..." Della looked at him inquisitively.

"To discuss our next step." Jake cockily made himself comfortable on the couch.
