Chapter 3017

Joan had no choice but to change the subject.

"Well then, shall we go shopping tomorrow?"

"Sure."

As long as it wasn't about Caspian, Jessica was fine with anything.

The next day, the two of them met up as planned.

Since Jessica had made it clear that she never wanted to hear Caspian's name again, Joan made sure she never brought it up either.

"What? How could the two of you go out without me?"

Nancy whined over the phone.

Joan smiled at her silliness before explaining the reason for the meetup.

"Wait for me! I'll be right over!"

Nancy exclaimed and hung up the phone right after.

Joan and Jessica exchanged glances and laughed.

No one was a better shopper than Nancy, and it was indeed their fault for having left her out.

Before long, the three women met up.

"What do you have in mind?" Nancy asked while nudging Jessica.

Jessica shot her a dirty look.

Since when did this woman become so nosy? Nancy smirked in response, wondering if Jessica was being shy or just avoiding this topic altogether.

Everyone has known about Caspian owning up to his mistakes.

Surely, Jessica would have heard about it too.

So why doesn't she have anything to say about it? As long as Caspian and Jessica patched things up, there was no doubt that their future would be smooth- sailing and happy. That was something Nancy truly hoped and wanted for her friend.

"I don't know what you're talking about; Jessica replied while brushing away Nancy's arm.

"Jessica, we're all women, so I'm going to cut straight to the chase.Caspian has already admitted he was in the wrong, so is there still hope between you and him?"

"No way! We are never, ever getting back together! Can you please stop talking about him? I just want to enjoy shopping with you two" Jessica replied, exasperated. Joan sensed the rage starting to boil in Jessica and decided that it'd be best to remain silent.

Nancy walked up to Joan and held her arm tight, greeting her sheepishly.

"Look at what you've done" Joan chided her.

"Let's just stop talking about it."

An awkward silence filled the air as the three women glanced at one another, no one knowing what to do next.

All of a sudden, a familiar voice rang out from behind them.

"Jessica!"

Oh my goodness! Caspian? Jessica stilled when she saw him.

What the hell is he doing here? And what does he want from me? As she clenched her fists, her heart started racing.

Nancy was just as stunned when she saw Caspian show up suddenly.

Joan, however, was completely calm and composed.

"Jessica, please give me another chance! I love you!" he shouted from afar.

His words were nothing but the truth.

Caspian had always loved Jessica.

Everything went wrong only because he thought he had gotten Lisa pregnant and he needed to be responsible.

However, all Jessica felt toward him was rage.

What does he take me for? Am I someone to be at his beck and call? If there's one thing Jessica was sure of, it was that she was nobody's plaything.

"Jessica! That's Caspian!" Nancy exclaimed.

So what? I don't care! Even if he knelt in public and begged for my forgiveness, {I'm still not getting back together with him! Jessica decided she wasn't going to stay to listen to Caspian. "Joan, I'm going off first? she said as she turned to leave.

Nancy immediately stopped her in her tracks.

"What? You can't do that. You have to go over to him. Look how awkward he is just standing there by himself!" Jessica frowned at her.

Awkward or not, that's his problem, not mine.

Why should I care? After all, he had chosen his own paths, so there was no one to blame but himself. No matter what the outcome was, Caspian would have to live with it.
