Chapter 3042

Jessica didn't even bother to hide the contempt in her voice.

Larry curled his lips into a smirk.

Looks like Caspian will fail to get her back.

"Why is it none of your business? If it wasn't for her, we would've already been..." Caspian muttered.

"Shut up!"

Jessica retorted loudly.

How dare he mention his promise? What a joke! "I have other matters to attend to.I need to get going"

Jessica announced and stormed out of the ward.

"Larry, what should I do?"

Caspian clutched Larry's arm in desperation.

What else is there to be done?Just play the waiting game! Time will solve everything.

That was what Larry had in mind, but he merely shook his head regretfully.

If Caspian remained with Jessica without creating trouble, they would've been married by now.

Alas, it was too late to regret now.

"Won't you go after her?" Joan urged.

Larry patted her shoulder as he explained, "There's no need for that. Jessica might be capricious, but she is still clear-headed enough not to delay or affect important affairs."

"Jessica, don't leave! I love you" declared Caspian.

"Can't you give me another chance?"

He tugged her arm and pleaded.

Unfortunately, it was all too late.

"I'm sorry, but I never look back"

"Don't say that! I know you still love me. My feelings for you remain unchanged. Why can't we start all over again?"

Caspian blocked Jessica's exit hastily.

That sounds ridiculous! He was the one who got drunk and slept with another woman.

How dare he requests to get back together with me now? The nerve of him! Jessica gritted her teeth as she stared at Caspian, tamping down the urge she had to tear him into pieces. She schooled her expression and responded, "I'm sorry, but I need to go now"

"You're not busy. There's nothing to do in your bookstore. Can't we sit down and talk over a meal?" Caspian proposed.

Slap! Her palm landed squarely on Caspian's face. His cheek flared up promptly from the force.

"This is my last warning. You're the one who cheated on me in the first place. There's no way I'll forgive you. I'm not a housemaid who you can order around as you please. I have my principle and dignity to uphold!"

Jessica hollered.

They were in a public place, but she couldn't be bothered as long as she could vent her anger and frustrations at him. Caspian's heart sank upon hearing her declaration. It dawned on him that things were over between them. He fidgeted nervously. I want to get back together with her, but it seems impossible now.

Seeing how despondent he was, Joan exhaled lightly, her expression tinged with disappointment.

They were a match made in heaven, but they were soon going to become strangers. Lisa's voice broke the tension.

"Caspian, I knew you'd be here."

Everyone was surprised at her appearance, especially Jessica, who instantly scowled unhappily. Why is she here? Caspian scrutinized her in bewilderment. He strode over to push her out hastily. "Why are you here?"

"Your friend is also my friend. Of course, I should come and visit Joan. It's all your fault. Why didn't you tell me you're going to come to the hospital? I would've tagged along if I knew about this." She took Caspian's arm and pouted prettily.

Lisa sneaked a glance at Jessica, who was standing not far away. Clearly, she was acting this way on purpose.
