"And now it has the power to control spirit mages. The power to control you." Emma finished grimly. Laila's eyes widened as she looked over at Elvira. Elvira's mouth had turned down in a stubborn scowl. "Nope. Don't believe it." Elvira said. Oliver looked at her pleadingly.
"We saw it ourselves, Elvira, look what it did to Kuro! It sort of...possessed him; Kuro's eyes had even become red!" Oliver exclaimed. His expression was painful to look at; it was somewhere between desperate and scared and trying to forget something terrible. Elvira looked away, adamant. "Look, this is serious, Elvira. Do you think we would joke about this? Do you seriously think we would make this up?" Oliver nearly shouted.
"Well, yeah! The Ragnarok clearly isn't powerful enough to do that! If it were, I would be in it's control by now! Don't you see? It's stupid!" Elvira retorted.
"Shh!" I said, grabbing Oliver's arm and tugging it. "You guys are gonna wake everyone up! And Ollie, if Elvira doesn't want to listen, she can be as stubborn as she wants! We're going!" I stormed out of Elvira's bedroom, dragging Oliver along with me. Laila, Emma and Elvira stared after us with open mouths. We crept down a winding staircase and passed the servant's quarters cautiously before reaching the front door.
I took out the key that Emma had given me so long ago. It unlocked any of the mansion's locks; Emma had an identical one that unlocked all of my house's locks. It had been made so that we would be able to sneak back and forth to each other's houses and have midnight parties, but the plan never worked, as we were too tired to wake up at night for a midnight bike ride.
The lock of the door clicked, and I pushed the door open. Oliver and I cringed as it squeaked a little, but we swiftly sneaked out of the mansion and closed the door gently behind us. I gave a sigh of relief as I locked the door. The moon shone in the night sky above us, round and whole.
"S-sorry for my outburst earlier on," Oliver apologized. I turned to smile at him.
"It's okay, Ollie. The most you could've done would've been to wake up a few people." I assured. Oliver nodded. "But right now, you have to open the portal."
"Ah, right," Oliver said. As the portal opened, I looked up at the mansion behind me.
I hope everyone would be okay...
another dashy line thingo
I woke with a start, feeling like I had forgotten something. Then it hit me.
Kuro! We left him at Emma's house!
Oh, shit, I thought as I clambered out of bed. I threw on a pair of tights and a blue t-shirt, then grabbed my jacket. I rushed to Oliver's room and began to shake him.
"I'm sorry mom! I won't forget to clean the dragon poop ever again!" Oliver woke up shouting. I stared at him quizzically, and he stared back. After realizing what he said, he blushed profusely. "I-I mean..."
"Never mind your weird outburst! You can tell me about that later! What's important is that we LEFT KURO BACK AT THE MANSION." I said, frustrated. Oliver gasped and shoved me off the bed. "Get out so I can change!"
another freakin' dashy line thingo omg
My mom stared in utter confusion as Oliver and I each both dunked a glass of milk down our throats and practically inhaled our breakfast muffins.
"OK bye mom!" I shouted, slamming the door behind us. "Quickly, open the portal! No one'll see us; the sun's barely up yet!" I called. Oliver opened the portal and we jumped in. wtf i'm not even gonna say dashy line thingo oh wait i said it oops
We arrived at the front door of Emma's mansion, panting and struggling to catch our breaths. I knocked on the door, and it swung open. Alfred greeted us politely and let us in.
We stumbled into the living room, and were surprised to see Emma, her brothers, Laila, Elvira, and most of all, Kuro, eating breakfast happily in front of a wide-screen TV. They turned to look at us, just as surprised. There was an awkward silence.
"...Larry Larcombe's ripped body was found in Rosewood Park, (A/N: Random place I can't be bothered looking for a real park in America) seemingly mauled to death by a wild creature," The news reporter's squeaky voice cut through the silence. "His head had been entirely ripped off and only a few of his limbs remained. Teeth marks were found on the remaining body parts. Larry's family are shocked and heartbroken..."
"That's the Ragnarok! I know it!" Oliver whispered hoarsely in my ear. Elvira, Emma, Laila and Kuro seemed to notice this too. Kuro was shaking.
"Kuro," I said. "Come with us. We'll take you back to James' house; he must be worried sick." Kuro nodded and said goodbye to Emma and the rest. We then headed out of the mansion, opened a portal and jumped in. ............ RAGE QUIT TOO MANY DASHY LINE THINGOS also dark scenes ahead you were warned
~Narrator
Elvira was running. She was also a tall, fully grown man. How she knew that, she didn't know. She just did. It was strange. A hoarse scream came out of her mouth as she felt a strange weight jump onto her. Then she felt the pain.
An agonizing force of pain ripped through her body like she was being sliced in two. She tried to scream as teeth dug into her arm and tore her flesh, but no sound came out. She felt a clawed hand scratch the skin on her face, then her limbs became detached from her body.
And she felt it all.
Why am I still alive? Elvira's mind screamed. Why am I still feeling this pain? Her vision was black, but her other senses were still intact. She heard a strange slurping sound as her body ached for the pain to cease. Something slit her throat and she felt warm blood form and gurgle out of the wound. Tears spilled down her cheeks as she felt her head being slowly ripped off.
Then a wicked, piercing laugh shattered the blackness, turning it red. *facepalms* DLT...
Elvira awoke with tears and sweat in her eyes. She blinked and rubbed them away.
That was the Ragnarok, She thought fearfully. And that...that was Larry Larcombe. I'm sure of it. But how is this possible? Is it a vision? I only see visions from the future, and that incident happened in the past! And also... Elvira touched her arms, her legs, her face. She breathed a strangled sigh of relief. Everything was intact.
But not for long, something, someone, sneered. Elvira let out a choked cry, grabbing her head.
"Get out! Get out! Get out!" She howled. The voice seemed to smirk at her. Elvira's limbs jerked and throbbed painfully, twisting in odd angles. Elvira tried to call for help, but it was too late. Pain ripped through her body as she felt her mind changing, her thoughts turning to shadows and blood.
I worship the Ragnarok, Elvira thought. It is my master, and it is all-powerful. All the while the Ragnarok laughed and laughed and laughed. You're mine now, the Ragnarok said triumphantly.
Oh my poor, poor Elvira. You shouldn't have been so...stubborn.
