Chapter 1056 Terminal-stage Lung Cancer

But she quickly turned her head back the next second.

Julia was looking outside the window and did not notice Elisa's abnormal behavior. However, Gareth perceived it

clearly, and his face clouded over.

One could not tell if it was due to his dissatisfaction with Elisa or concern about Julia.

Elisa gathered herself together quickly so she could behave like normal when Julia turned to speak to her.

They had a pleasant chat while on the way to the hospital.

Elisa had complicated emotions, and her heart pounded heavily when Julia entered the examination room. Gareth

accompanied Julia during the checkup too.

Julia asked, "Why is Darren not here yet?"

Usually, Darren would always come with Julia for every checkup. She did not ask the question earlier, thinking

Darren might be on his way, but she found it strange that he had not arrived even when the checkup was about to

begin.

Gareth answered calmly, "Grandpa will be an hour late. He has some matters to attend to."

Julia trusted Gareth and nodded in response.

She smiled when both Elisa and Gareth came in with her. "It's just a normal checkup. You don't have to come in with

me. Just wait for me outside."

Julia did not notice anything off while Elisa held her hand with a smile. "Grandma, I promised to stay with you. I can't

eat my words."

Julia's heart almost melted hearing Elisa's thoughtful response. She grinned and nodded. "Sure, sure. Stay here with

me then."

In contrast, she completely disregarded Gareth.

With that, the examination began. Elisa added two tests to the list after checking it.

Julia was the only patient in the hospital, so it did not take long before the result was released.

While a nurse escorted Julia to the washroom, Gareth and Elisa met the doctor.

Elisa's face was as pale as a sheet when she saw the report. The doctors, too, wore solemn expressions.

When Gareth read the report to realize Julia was diagnosed with terminal-stage lung cancer, his mind went blank.

Terminal-stage lung cancer… How can this happen?

Elisa was trembling and tongue-tied.

Perceiving that Gareth was aware of the result too, the doctors did not comment because Julia might return

anytime soon.

Gareth inhaled deeply and uttered, "Do not reveal this result to anyone."

The doctors nodded cautiously. If Julia discovered the truth and could not take the hit, she could…

They could not imagine what might happen.

Soon, Julia came back from the washroom.

She was not alerted when she saw Gareth and Elisa gathering with the doctors. After all, she was always well-loved

and given attention by the family.

She looked at Gareth and Elisa with a beam. "Shall we go?"

She was confident the result was satisfactory because she had always been healthy.

Gareth gazed at Elisa and said, "Send Grandma home first. I need to attend to some other matters."
