Chapter 1197 Will You Be My Companion?

Elisa quickly responded, "Please don't say that."

A lot of times, their relationship had nothing to do with other people's opinions. Grandma always advised them to

stay true and loyal to each other, while Grandpa urged them to separate. Her in laws, Gareth's parents, also had

mixed feelings about their marriage.

In fact, if one had to be precise, they divorced mainly because of Gareth's attitude toward her. He had always

detested her and never wanted to be with her, which was perfectly reasonable.

So, their divorce was not influenced by anything, nor did anyone try to catalyze their disharmony. It was just that

they were no longer suitable for each other. And Elisa had come to terms with it.

Seeing that Elisa had no intention of saying anything else, the old man sighed and spoke softly, "Since that's the

case, I won't bother you anymore. Liz, Grandpa hopes you reconsider it and don't make rash judgments."

As for the relationship between her and Gareth, it had long turned to dust and bore no significance to her. Elisa did

not entertain the thought of it, nor did she consider the possibility at all.

Elisa replied with a low hum. Her composure remained steady from start to finish, with only a few moments of

surprise.

"Okay."

And then, they ended the call.

The car became silent once again.

Elisa glanced briefly at Gareth's morose expression before leaving the car.

"Thanks for the ride. Goodbye," Elisa said, grabbing her bag and entering the villa. Gareth's car remained dead and

stationery. Elisa didn't bother and went inside. After their last encounter, she ensured all the passwords and

fingerprints were changed, so Gareth couldn't access her home. She didn't want him back in her life. Fortunately,

he didn't try either.

Elisa slept soundly that night.

The next day, Elisa had just arrived at the company when she received a message from Will.

Will: 'It's Old Mr. Tabor's birthday in a few days. Will you be my companion?'

Elisa raised her eyebrows.

Elisa: 'I'll go alone that day. Besides, I may have to leave early for some work.'

Will: 'Okay, I can send you there.'

Elisa: 'I appreciate your offer, but no thanks.'

In fact, she didn't want to have too much contact with Will now. She had lied to Julia to ease her anxiety. If she had

too much contact with other men, it would only contradict her promise. All her efforts would be in vain, and Julia's

condition would worsen.

Elisa: 'I'm sorry. But we have to keep a distance from each other for the time being for personal reasons.'

Elisa wanted to avoid too much contact with Will because she had lied to Julia about their relationship. She didn't

want to shoot herself in the foot and risk worsening Julia's anxiety. In her message to Will, Elisa deliberately

separated the word 'important' with a space to stress her concern. Will knew Elisa had been frequenting Wickam

Manor lately, showing how much she cared about Julia.

Knowing Will was smart, Elisa was certain that he would cooperate with her to ensure her plan goes swimmingly.
