Chapter 1593 A Heavy Weight on Her Chest

But now…

Julia was still skeptical. "Elisa, weren't you supposed to attend Gareth's cousin's wedding with him? Did you start

dating him just so you wouldn't have to go?"

Elisa pressed her lips together tightly. She had no intention of attending the wedding.

Elisa was done with Gareth. She didn't want Grandma or Thomas to try to get them back together. She also didn't

wish for Gareth to be hung up on her.

Will spoke up before she could get a word in.

Will's voice was deep and commanding. "Elisa and I are officially together. She is no longer involved with Gareth and

is free to do whatever she wants. Our relationship is real—it's not just for show, as you seem to."

Will wrapped his arm around Elisa's shoulders, pulling her close as he spoke to Julia.

Elisa felt Will's grip tighten around her shoulders. She was grateful for his help.

But Will was sincere when he uttered those words to Julia.

Julia turned a deaf ear to Will’s explanation.

Her eyes turned cold and hard.

"Elisa, tell me the truth. Is this real? If it is, why didn't you tell me sooner? You must think I'm a nuisance."

Her voice was tinged with sadness.

She still couldn't believe what she was hearing.

Elisa shifted about, an uncomfortable feeling erupting deep within her stomach as she heard Julia's outpour.

Even though she felt bad lying to her, she couldn't let this continue. Julia was constantly coming up with new plans

to get her back with Gareth, and stopping her was becoming increasingly difficult.

Elisa shook her head incessantly, her eyes pleading with Julia to believe her. "Grandma, I never thought of you as a

nuisance. We only got together this late because I went to Moranta with Gareth. We hadn't had the chance to

develop deeper feelings then, but I was really moved when he continued to wait for me."

Elisa's eyes were glued to Will as she explained.

There are times when facial expressions and body language can speak volumes.

She had the right to choose who she wanted to be with.

Now that she was divorced, Elisa could choose Will or even Eden. But the problem was…

"Alright," a deep voice chimed in suddenly. "I guess I'll have to congratulate you."

Gareth was the one who spoke up.

His voice was dark and cold, each word spoken with icy precision.

A set of jet-black eyes stared into hers, devoid of any hint of feeling.

Despite her wish for Gareth to stop intervening in her affairs, his stony indifference to their lie caused Elisa's

stomach to sink.

Her heartstrings tugged painfully as she felt a pang of sorrow punch through her chest.

But Gareth spoke up immediately afterward.

"My grandmother's health hasn't been well lately. I'm sure you know a lot about her now that you're her boyfriend.

My grandmother is very particular about her doctors, so she has to stay at Manor Residence for a while."

"Doctor," he repeated, the word lingering in the air before fading away.

If it were in the past, Will wouldn't have understood what Gareth meant. But with the implication of Gareth's words,

Will realized that Elisa was Mystic Orchid.
