“Huh…? Then what did you mean by greeting her just now?”

“Huh…? Then what did you mean by greeting her just now?”

Melissa had been friends with Nicole for a few years. Her thoughts were simple, and she wasn’t very bright. She

had been relying on the support of Nicole for the past few years, and Nicole had protected her quite well. At the

very least, other people wouldn’t dare to do anything to Melissa because of Nicole.

But…

After being by Nicole’s side for so long, Melissa wasn’t much wiser.

She had a stubborn character, but she didn’t have a bad heart.

Nicole smiled. “I simply admire her, and I just want to have a meal with her.”

“Huh? Admire? Isn’t that wanting to be friends? But since you’re not friends, why did you ask her out for a meal?”

Nicole immediately said in exasperation, “Alright, let’s look around for a while more before we eat. What do you

want to eat?”

Melissa was confused. “Nic, I don’t know what’s going on… Please tell me what you’re thinking about.”

“Not much. I just want to meet her. Can you understand that?”

A light suddenly dawned on Melissa. “Oh… to meet her! You should’ve said so earlier. I would’ve understood.”

Nicole’s lips twitched. No one could tell if she was frustrated.

The two of them continued shopping, but Melissa was feeling confused. She still felt like something wasn’t right.

As for Elisa and Rachel, they walked around and stopped for lunch at noon.

They had just ordered food when Elisa’s cell phone rang.

Her eyes dulled a little when she saw the caller ID.

“Why are you hesitating? Who is it?”

“Gareth’s grandmother,” Elisa said before she picked up her cell phone and answered the call.

Rachel blinked as she looked at Elisa and didn’t say anything.

“Grandma.” Elisa’s voice was very gentle, and there was a trace of a smile in the corner of her mouth.

“Ah, Liz, do you miss Grandma?”

As Old Madam Wickam’s gentle voice rang in her ear, Elisa couldn’t help but think of Grandma’s peaceful

demeanor. Her gaze softened, and she said with a smile, “Of course I do, you…”

Before Elisa could finish, Old Madam Wickam said in a slightly disappointed manner, “You don’t! You don’t have

Grandma in your heart! You don’t miss me at all!!”

“Of course not. You’ve misunderstood, Grandma.” Elisa explained patiently to Julia.

Rachel, who was at the side, couldn’t help but cover her mouth and laugh in silence. The two of them got along in

such a manner. Although she didn’t see it often, she understood it.

She found it miraculous that until now, Old Madam Wickam still liked Liz so much.

Julia said in a grieved manner, “Then tell me, how long has it been since you last came to see me?”

Elisa’s lashes trembled slightly. “Grandma, I…”

It wasn’t that she didn’t want to visit Old Madam Wickam. It just wasn’t very appropriate for her to do so with the

relationship she and Gareth had.

Furthermore, she had been resting for some time and had no way to visit Grandma.

Until now, Grandma still didn’t know that she was injured.

“Look at you! You can’t even tell me. Girl, you don’t miss me, do you? Ah… I’m old. Old people are useless. Even my

granddaughter is shunning me.”

It was almost as if Julia grew sadder as she talked about it. It seemed like she was about to cry at the next moment.

Looking at Elisa’s complicated expression, Rachel couldn’t help but laugh.

She could intermittently hear what Old Madam Wickam said.

Elisa covered her forehead with her hand and said at once, “Grandma, that’s not the case. How could I shun you?

I’ll come to see you within these two days.”
