Now Elisa would want to leave as soon as she saw him. She didn’t want to stay in the same room as him.

If it wasn’t for Grandma’s sake, she wouldn’t have eaten with him.

And, of course, they wouldn’t even meet.

Gareth wrinkled his brows and raised his eyes to look at Julia. “Grandma, I need your help. Once we remarry, she

will be my wife and the only woman in my life. I won’t let her suffer any pain, and I will be a competent husband.”

A competent husband. That was all it was.

He would give her everything that other women had, but he wouldn’t invest other feelings.

But Gareth seemed to have forgotten that Elisa wasn’t someone who lacked material goods.

What use would she have for a man without affection? She was well-connected and exceptional, and she had the

money. There was nothing she couldn’t resolve, and she didn’t have to do anything illegal.

Moreover, she didn’t need romantic love at this time.

Julia’s brows wrinkled tightly. After hesitating for a moment, she said indifferently, “I won’t help you at the moment.

I’ll see how you perform in the future.”

Gareth was stumped.

Since Grandma had already said so, after much thought, he knew that there was no point in trying to convince her.

He could only nod. “Alright. You can observe and think about it in the future. The two of us will take you out if

there’s an opportunity.”

“The two of you?”

In a flash, it was as though Julia’s innermost being was filled with anticipation. “Do you want to?”

“Of course I…” Before she could finish, she suddenly came to her senses and berated him at once. “You brat!

You’re tricking me again! You were planning to coerce Liz if I said that I wanted it! I won’t be fooled!”

Gareth was taken aback.

He sighed in frustration. “You can observe and think about it. You will believe me in the end. I have some things to

deal with, so I’ll be leaving.”

Julia pursed her lips. “Alright, go!”

The brat is leaving right after he tells her what he came for. How ungrateful!

Seeing her sulk, Gareth said in exasperation, “Dad will come over in a while. He’ll arrive in about ten minutes. I

have to take over from him, so I’m going to meet him now.”

Julia waved her hands. “Go on.”

Gareth nodded. He didn’t say anything else as he turned to leave.

Watching her grandson’s figure, Julia’s feelings grew more complicated. Liz and Gareth…

These two kids…

Julia couldn’t help but sigh, and she kept thinking about it. She didn’t even hear when Jerry had arrived.

“Mom?”

Julia only came to her senses when he called her for the third time. She was startled when she saw Jerry standing in

front of her. “You gave me a fright.”

Jerry was slightly baffled. He sat down next to her and asked in a perplexed manner, “What are you thinking about

that you were so enraptured? I called out to you three times.”

“Huh? Really?” Julia was a little puzzled. “I didn’t hear you.”

“What are you thinking about?”

“Gareth said something to me just now, and I thought that it was unbelievable. I feel like something isn’t right…”

Julia wrinkled her brows as though she was still mystified after much thought.

Jerry was a little amused. “What did he say?”

What did Gareth do to make his mother like this?

Julia furrowed her brows, and for a moment, she didn’t know what to say. She could only say in exasperation, “This

brat…”
