“Are you at home?”

Elisa answered with ease, “Mm. I’m about to go to bed.”

Will smiled. “Mm. Do you want to have lunch together tomorrow?”

The corner of Elisa’s mouth twitched slightly. “Sorry, I’m busy.”

“Pfft.” Will raised his brows. “Can you be more mindful when you turn me down?”

Elisa didn’t want to waste time with him, so she said calmly, “Is there any other reason you’re looking for me?”

“Yes.”

“What is it?” Elisa wasn’t in a rush to hang up.

“I miss you.”

Elisa felt stupefied.

She didn’t want to talk nonsense with this man and was about to hang up.

But he knew what she was thinking about. Just as she was about to tap on her screen, his voice rang in her ears.

“Do you have any thoughts about the proposal?”

“Not yet. I’m thinking about it.”

It was mainly because she had a lot on her plate recently. Moreover, she couldn’t work with Will soon, so she wasn’t

in a rush to think about the proposal on Will’s side.

“Mm. I’m just asking. There’s no rush.” There was a gentle smile in the corner of Will’s lips.

Elisa nodded. “Alright. It’s late, and I want to go to bed. If there’s nothing else…”

She didn’t continue, but her intentions were clear.

Will sighed. “Mm. Rest well. I’ll come and look for you tomorrow at noon.”

Elisa’s brows furrowed, and she said at once, “Will Darcey.”

She only said his name.

Will smiled lightly. “Isn’t this the only way to keep you on the line?”

Elisa furrowed her brows again, but before she could say anything else, Will smiled and said, “I’m just kidding. Rest

well.”

Will was alright in this regard. Even if he wanted to tease her, he wouldn’t go overboard, and he would stop before

it went too far so she wouldn’t get sick of him.

Elisa didn’t want to say anything else, so she hung up.

But…

Just as Elisa was about to go to bed, she received a text message on her cell phone.

She was feeling a little annoyed, but her sleepiness suddenly vanished when she saw that it was a message from

Norman.

—Norman: ‘May I know if you will have the time to continue cracking the code today?’

She replied at once that she was free right now.

Norman was overjoyed when he saw the reply.

He immediately replied with words of gratitude.

Elisa wasn’t planning to sleep right away. After all, it was only around nine o’clock. She walked to her computer and

sat down as she started to crack the code.

As for Gareth…

He had been keeping an eye out for the hacker. When he noticed that someone had breached his perimeters, he

intercepted them personally.

The IT department of Wickam Group sighed in relief when they noticed. Their boss’ skills were above theirs. Now

with him undertaking the task, they could breathe a sigh of relief.

It was a game between two heavyweights.

It was as though Gareth was gaining the upper hand, but also as if he was letting the hacker in.

The two of them negotiated. Elisa expressed what she had said previously. She wouldn’t breach the final level. She

had her limits, but she had to do it for certain reasons. She would compensate him after it was all over.

But how could Gareth trust what the other party was saying? They were breaching each level. Could he put up with

them breaching Wickam Group’s confidential information until the last level?

But…

Gareth let them in. No one knew what he was thinking about.

However…
