Norman immediately came to his senses. He turned away from Elisa and looked at everyone before him.

“Since I’ve asked Elisa to attend this meeting, I believe everyone knows what I want to talk about.”

No one said anything, but they quietly understood what he meant.

Elisa also remained silent and sat calmly at her spot.

Norman was unhappy with the silence and said again, “Wickam Group has informed me that they will begin

collaborating with Benett Corporation on the new project in three days. Furthermore, Elisa will be the main person

in charge of this project. All staff on this project must obey Elisa’s instruction without question.”

Elisa raised her eyebrows slightly and understood what Norman was getting at.

Norman is waiting for me to make a mistake and show everyone I’m not skilled enough to handle the project. Then,

he will use the opportunity to remove me.

Or perhaps, he will get someone to mess things up and put the blame on me.

He does have a good plan.

James smiled. “I have no problem with it, but Elisa is only the person in charge. At the end of the day, Mr. Wickam

will still be the key decision-maker, and many things will require his approval. As long as Mr. Wickam agrees, we

have no issue. After all, his company is providing the capital.”

Norman was rendered speechless.

Elisa’s heart was warmed. James would always stand up for her whenever others doubted her. Sometimes, she

could not help but feel that James was similar to her father.

There was also Sean, who helped her tremendously.

Elisa held a deep respect for the two of them.

Jessie also nodded. “That’s right. Mr. Wickam will make the final decisions, and Liz will direct the staff to implement

his decisions. I believe we have no right to question this either. When the time comes, we only have to submit to

their decisions, and things will be fine. Mr. Benett, I wonder why you suddenly called everyone here for a meeting.

Do you have other matters to talk about?”

Everyone focused on Norman.

Jessie was right. The things Norman mentioned had long been decided. It was pointless to call this meeting if he had

no other matters.

Thus, everyone waited for Norman to speak.

Norman’s expression froze slightly as if hesitating. Then, he said, “I want to discuss with everyone how to make this

collaboration a success and keep Wickam Group from leaving us. After all, our company is on thin ice.”

Everyone instantly fell silent.

Elisa glanced at Norman calmly. “Perhaps it’s inappropriate for me to listen in on this matter. Should I leave?”

Norman became even more anxious.

He called everyone here to tell them that it would be Elisa’s fault if there were any problems with the project.

He refused to let Elisa gain a foothold in this company.

If someone hadn’t asked if I had any other matters, I wouldn’t have to say this!

What the heck!

Elisa’s words immediately set him off course. People were now wondering why he got her to attend the meeting

since it was about such a matter.

Norman wanted to retaliate against Elisa and make things difficult for her. Unexpectedly, Elisa made a fool of him

instead.

His fury grew as he sensed everyone looking at him. He even felt the urge to choke Elisa to death.

Norman took a deep breath and controlled his emotions before saying evenly, “You are not to leave. This matter is

related to you. I called you here so that you can listen to it.”
