No Chance of Remarriage Get Lost (Elisa) -
Chapter 781
The manager heaved a sigh of relief but continued, “Let me do it. It’s my fault. How could I possibly make you
pay–”
Before he could finish his sentence, he felt a gaze so sharp it could only belong to Gareth. He was almost on the
verge of tears.
There’s nothing wrong with this.
Elisa ignored him. “Let’s continue.”
The next manager quickly reported their progress. Since everything else was going smoothly, Elisa resumed her
usual demeanor.
However, Gareth’s mouth remained set in a hard line the entire time.
When everyone had finished reporting, silence fell in the meeting room again.
Thomas arranged the meeting, so the rest had no idea what the agenda was. They were waiting for Gareth and
Elisa to give instructions, but Elisa was determined to let Gareth do the talking.
Sitting next to him, she could feel his pressure, but she completely ignored him.
Gareth’s frown deepened when he saw her nonchalance. Then, he looked at Thomas, who got the cue quickly.
“Ms. Benett, what’s your next plan?”
“We have already spoken about this before, haven’t we? I believe Mr. Wickam has an eidetic memory.”
Gareth shot a sharp look at her. “Judging from the current situation, I want to hear from you – can we still follow the
original plan?”
“Why not?”
Gareth let out a cold snort. “What about the profit margin?”
“Of course, it remains as predicted.”
Everyone was speechless upon hearing that. They couldn’t understand the reason for the question.
We were just discussing the plan. Why did they suddenly talk about the profit margin? Is it going to change because
of the changes? We didn’t know at all! According to Ms. Benett, it remains as planned, but I’m sure Mr. Wickam has
his reasons for doubting that unless Ms. Benett has a way out of this.
Elisa explained coolly, “As we are going to work overtime, the progress won’t be affected. And I’ve finished the
design for Phoenix Bridge, which should be implemented as planned. I can get sufficient manpower in three days.
There’s no need to worry, Mr. Wickam.”
Everyone was stunned upon hearing that. Once again, they didn’t understand her explanation.
What is going on with Phoenix Bridge? It’s where we’re starting our construction, but we haven’t even entered the
implementation phase. Why are they talking about it now? Everything is just beginning now. They’re really
professionals – we can’t even follow the course of their conversation.
Gareth looked at Elisa coldly. “There are some problems with the geography of Phoenix Bridge.”
“I’ve visited the site – it’s not a big deal.”
Gareth’s gaze flickered. “I’m going to visit the spot later – you’re coming along.”
Elisa frowned. She didn’t want to be alone with him, but she couldn’t reject his request because this was work-
related.
Despite feeling annoyed at his demands, she chose not to respond; a tacit agreement formed between the two.
Everyone watched the situation unfold and realized something had changed in Gareth.
Hmph? He seems more mellow today.
