Right now, she didn’t know anything. Perhaps she could replace some answers when she went to the office!

The night slowly darkened.

But some people weren’t sleeping.

Gareth was in the bedroom. He had just showered, and his face was still dark. His rage toward Elisa had yet to

subside.

His cell phone rang. There wasn’t a name saved to the number.

Gareth had the same habit as Elisa. They didn’t record anybody’s numbers because they both had photographic

memories.

This number belonged to Thomas. Gareth answered the call.

“Mr. Wickam, I’ve gotten people to investigate. Those assailants are hiding well. There isn’t much of a trail yet.”

“Is this all you’re telling me?” Gareth’s voice grew cold.

Thomas could only continue, “The people who humiliated Ms. Benett previously are different from this group, but

they were paid to do things on someone’s behalf. After investigating, I can almost confirm it is the same person. I

previously suspected Linda, but I can’t pin this to her.”

Gareth’s brows furrowed tightly, and he didn’t say a word.

Thomas took a tiny breath and said, “I can only… replace out as much for now. The mastermind is hiding very well. All

the clues are cut off here. I contacted the boss of the previous group, but the boss was clueless about this. There

was just an anonymous call, and they were paid in cash. The person disguised themselves well. They also

deliberately changed their voice. Furthermore, they avoided the angle of the security cameras with their position.

I’ve instructed people to eliminate possibilities one by one.”

“Don’t miss anything,” Gareth said before ending the call. His eyes were filled with frost.

He got up and walked out of his bedroom. He could see the light from the crack under the door in Elisa’s room. He

walked to her door and asked in a deep voice, “Have you slept?”

Elisa was slightly surprised. She was leaning against the headboard. Elisa had taken a nap in the day, and her

wound was hurting now. Although she could tolerate it, she didn’t feel sleepy.

Gareth came to her when it was so late. Did something happen?

She paused and answered, “No.”

Gareth opened the door. When he saw Elisa look at him with a clear and bright expression, he walked to the chair at

the side of the bed and sat down.

It was a chair that Rachel had placed there in the day.

He looked at her indifferently. “Who did you offend?”

Elisa’s eyes flashed slightly. For a moment, she didn’t know what to say.

“I’ve been a lawyer for many years, so I’ve offended many people.”

Gareth frowned. The scope widened instantly, but he felt he wasn’t in the right direction.

He looked at her indifferently. “The same person employed this group that attacked you and the group that went to

the police station last time.”

Thomas wasn’t quite sure, but from his investigations, Gareth could infer that it was the same person.

Elisa’s eyes flickered slightly. She had also guessed that it was the same person.

“Are there any clues?”

“Just anonymous phone calls. The groups were paid in cash,” Gareth said simply.

Elisa’s brows suddenly furrowed tightly.

Gareth looked at her and asked, “Did you think of something?”

Only the two of them were in the suite. Although they didn’t get along very well, they gave others the impression

that they had a harmonious relationship.

And they were brilliant, so a rapport was naturally formed.

With a glance from one of them, the other could guess what was on their minds.
