Elisa was done talking to Linda.

She had said everything she needed to say and gave Linda enough information to do her research.

Linda was a smart woman; she must have figured out something by now. She would be able to replace out more from

tonight’s argument.

Of course, she had to teach Linda a lesson. Seeing her enemy getting strung up put Elisa in a good mood.

Linda’s lawless activity had drawn her to persecution by law enforcement. And it scared her witless to the point of

depression. It was logical for Norman to hush up about their predicament from Linda and let her live in her own

bubble. Of course, Linda wouldn’t want to be lied to. So, as a loving cousin sister, she must intervene and defend

Linda’s interest.

Suddenly, Elisa’s phone rang. She thought it was Linda, but it turned out to be Will.

She answered the call but remained silent.

Will asked, “How did the business trip go?”

“Nothing special,” Elisa replied sedately.

After hearing Elisa’s response, Will breathed a sigh of relief. Will assumed Elisa was doing great through her relaxed

tone.

Will asked with a smile, “When will you be back?”

“Not sure for the time being. I’m not the boss. I don’t get to make the call.”

Will ranted, “You’ll get to call the shot if you work with me. What is mine is yours. Give it some thought, will you?”

She didn’t answer him. Elisa wasn’t in the mood to talk to Will.

Will didn’t shy away from Elisa’s cold treatment. He just smiled and said, “There has been a new project recently.

Do you want to be part of it?”

Elisa was startled, “What project?”

“We’ll meet and talk about it after you come back. The project is crucial for Benett Corporation. You should

consider it.”

Elisa’s eyes flickered, and she pursed her lips, “Then we’ll talk soon.”

She stopped talking after that. She didn’t intend to chat further.

Will sighed, “Did you miss me?”

Elisa was taken aback, “… Will.”

“I’m here.” Will’s silver voice resounded like the prelude of a flute, so soft and calming.

Elisa creased her forehead. She meant to warn Will by calling him out, but it didn’t work.

“Do you have anything else to tell me?”

Knowing that it was ineffectual to warn him, Elisa diverted to a new topic.

“Hmm. Yes.” He replied breezily. His good mood didn’t seem to be affected by Elisa’s aloofness.

Elisa didn’t speak but waited for him to say some more.

Will uttered gently, “I miss you so much.”

Elisa was nonplussed by his words.

That’s all? Is this what he wanted to tell me?

Elisa didn’t want to hear more of his gibberish, so she hung up on him.

Will was not surprised.

Cole couldn’t help but smile amusingly in front of Will’s desk. That woman had no interest in him. Despite having

been snubbed so many times, he still wouldn’t give up enticing her with honeyed words.

Perhaps Will detected Cole’s teasing smile, and the latter felt a smiling gaze directed at him.

He was apprehended by Will’s intimidating gaze and almost tripped and fell.

There was danger lurking behind Will’s smiling eyes. Feeling intimidated, Cole profusely clutched onto the file as if

by doing that, he could steady himself and not tumble over.
