Chapter 889 Results of the Investigation

This made Nicole seem as though she would only take action for justice. She would have the dignity to blame Elisa

for making her take action.

Nevertheless, Linda didn't care how Nicole portrayed herself. Whatever you say! I don't really care as long you do

something about it.

Linda replied calmly, "Of course, I have the evidence. I'll send it to you later. I won't ask to meet again if you think

the evidence is insufficient. There's nothing I can do to make you cherish Gareth."

Nicole's eyes flashed at her.

Linda wore her sunglasses and mask again, indicating she had nothing more to say.

Looking back at Nicole's gaze, she said, "I've said all I could. There's no need to waste your time any further. We

might see each other again if fate brings us together."

With that, she smiled and nodded at Nicole before leaving without another word, shutting the door behind her

thoughtfully.

Nicole sat stonily in her seat with a conflicted expression on her face.

What is the evidence she claims to have? Is she telling the truth?

Then, Nicole remembered her words just now. I can investigate it myself.

She quickly sent a message to her assistant and left. I have to get to the bottom of this. I won't allow Elisa or

anyone to hurt Gareth.

After that, she could wait for her assistant and Linda to get back to her.

It had been two normal days for Elisa at the company until she got a call from Charli.

She immediately looked grave and went straight to Charli's place after work.

When Charli saw the impatient look on her face, she said, "Take a seat and have some water."

Elisa nodded and walked inside stonily, receiving a stack of photographs from Charli.

"I've tried my best. These are what I found. I printed out the photographs – the originals were nowhere to be

found."

Elisa pursed her lips quietly as she looked at the photographs initially shot on a film camera some decades ago.

Though it was slightly blurry, she could make out the faces.

In one of the photographs, a woman stood next to her father.

"She–"

"I think your father destroyed these. While looking into his past, I found out about these. She could be your mother."

From the low-resolution photograph, Elisa could tell the woman was fair-skinned and beautiful.

She looked through each of them and realized that her parents were in love with each other, beaming brightly at

the camera when they took the pictures.

I don't understand. Is Linda telling the truth, or has she been lying to me all this while? Why didn't Dad mention

Mom at all? He would divert my attention whenever I asked about her.
