At Wickam Group.

Gareth wasn't in the mood to handle work at the moment.

He made his way to the window and stared out. His expression remained stern. Gareth couldn't make out much of

the scenery below due to being on a high level. He could discern the sky and clouds above.

The air was energizing, and the weather was pleasant. A chilly breeze entered the room when Gareth opened the

window. It calmed him.

He stood there for some time, looking off into the distance as though he could make out the horizon.

Five days passed.

The atmosphere appeared relaxed.

The three members of the Benett family were dining.

After several days of peace, their tense nerves relaxed slightly.

Norman even drank some alcohol.

Norman sipped the strong whisky, and his mouth puckered. He bit into his meal and laughed, "It seems she was just

trying to scare us."

Linda frowned as she noticed her father was in a good mood. She argued, "She has no other choices. Are you

celebrating already? Have you forgotten your previous position and what it is now? How many people used to

respect you? Can't you look at yourself? They hardly even recognize your presence."

Norman's face darkened. He looked at Linda and said, "Do you think I don't know that? The good news is that Elisa

has stopped taking steps to stop us. Do you need to upset your father right now?"

He used to adore his daughter, even when she misbehaved. But now, he thought his daughter was erratic, and her

communication had become extremely shallow.

With no desire to eat, Linda set down her eating utensils.

Rose clutched her fork but did not eat.

She sighed as she stared at her daughter hopelessly. Rose replied, "Shouldn't you eat first? What are you doing?"

Linda was dissatisfied and pursed her lips. She responded softly.

"They used to call me Elisa when they saw me in the past. They still welcome me when they see me, but I can tell

the respect and flattery that once filled their eyes have faded. Instead, they act oddly, and even after I leave, I still

hear them talking about me in their whispers!"

Linda's eyes started welling up as she talked, but she raised her head a little and tried to contain her feelings.

"Linda..."

Rose dropped her fork and sighed sadly. "My dear, I know you're feeling wronged; to replace ourselves in this

predicament overnight. This can't knock us down, can it? We can still climb back on top."

In an instant, Linda ruined Norman's cheerful mood. After a swig of whiskey, he had no appetite.

He paused, then turned to face Linda. Norman commented, "Given the current situation, we can only take it step by

step. You feel helpless and wronged, but so do I. But look, now everyone is focused on Elisa."

Linda refuted, "Will this matter be simply dismissed? I won't give up that easily!"

Norman spoke in a low tone, "Who is ready to quit? We cannot ignore this situation! Don't forget that Elisa will be

dealt with by the person standing behind you. We can reclaim our position when she murders Elisa."
