Chapter 980 Will Not Be Moved

Everyone looked a little unsatisfied, as if they had been left hanging right before the ending of a movie.

The judge had left, and there was nothing they could do.

Elisa rose to her feet. She knew that the case would not conclude today.

People started to stand and leave. Elisa had no plans on lingering either.

Rachel and Charli stood and hurried over to where Elisa was.

Rachel, in particular, was in high spirits. She was extremely curious about what was in the files Elisa had handed in.

She especially wanted to know what would happen to Linda and her family.

But this wasn't the place to ask Elisa. She quickly ushered Elisa out.

Before they had taken three steps, someone called her name. The voice sounded tight. It was as if whoever it was

was trying their hardest not to let their anger get the better of them.

"Elisa."

Elisa stopped and turned towards the voice.

Rachel looked over and saw Norman's face, almost purple with rage. He was trying his hardest to avoid letting it

show to get on Elisa's better side. Rachel burst out in laughter. Norman's face grew even more stormy.

Elisa stared at him without saying a word.

Norman took a deep breath. Taking quick steps towards her, he whispered, "I've booked a table for us at a

restaurant. Let's go grab some food."

Rachel couldn't help but roll her eyes in exasperation.

She had given him plenty of opportunities before, but he had laughed in her face. It's true what they say. Hindsight

is 20/20.

Elisa stared back at him. "No thanks. I wouldn't want to die of poisoning."

There's no such thing as a free lunch. Some way or another, you'll have to pay for it.

That was a shared principle.

Norman's face darkened even further. "You…"

He was so furious that he didn't know what to say.

He took a deep breath to regulate his emotions. He looked at Elisa and said in a low voice, "Even if something like

this had happened, I'm still your uncle, Elisa. Are you going to cut me off? Did you not feel sad when you called me

'Mr. Benett'?"

Elisa laughed in disbelief. "Sad?"

Elisa turned and stalked out. She had too much respect for herself to continue entertaining his delusions.

"Elisa!"

Norman chased after her.

It was at this moment that Rose and Linda emerged from the courtroom. Noticing Norman standing with Elisa, Rose

hurried over.

Rose dragged Linda along. Linda's complexion was noticeably pale. There was no point in hiding it.

But…

This wasn't something she had a say to!

"Elisa, dear…" Rose was deathly afraid that Elisa would walk off. Disregarding the many people that still lingered

about, she grabbed Elisa's arm.

Elisa frowned and shrugged her off. "If there's anything else you need to tell me, please contact me by phone. I

have to apologize, but I have another appointment after this."

Elisa did not feel a thing towards them. Their pleas would not move her, and she had no issue embarrassing them.

Before she could take another step, Norman said, "Don't you want to know what happened to your father?"
